Chase Mattioli Lends Clearbrook a Hand for 2010 in ARCA Daytona Opener
Wednesday February 3, 2010
LONG POND, PA…..Like all of the 52 drivers entered to race at Daytona, 20-year old Chase Mattioli wants to win, but winning for this Fordham University sophomore is about more than just checkered flags and trophies. For Mattioli it’s about using himself, his race car and a nationally televised event to draw attention and raise money to help people overcome one the largest health care problem in America today, addiction. Since 1972, nationally renowned Clearbrook Treatment Centers have been helping adolescents and adults who suffer from alcoholism and/or chemical dependency, and now Chase wants to “Lend a Hand” and help Clearbrook in their efforts.
“The Mattioli family has been big supporters of our efforts at Clearbrook and we appreciate and applaud Chase’s help in spreading the word,” commented Clearbrook CEO, Dr. Nick Colangelo.
Chase’s on-track efforts at Daytona could result in as much as a quarter million dollars being donated to Clearbrook, and bring national attention to a problem that impacts so many individuals across the nation.
“Addiction and dependency on alcohol or drugs affects us all,” Mattioli explained. “Everyone is touched by this disease and has family members, friends or acquaintances that are struggling with alcoholism and/or chemical dependency. No one, regardless of age, income, race or gender is immune. For years Clearbrook has been helping in a big way, and I hope our efforts on and off the track, and the attention of millions of race fans, make a difference,” Mattioli concluded.
Mattioli will be competing in the ARCA Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 at Daytona on February 6th, driving the #14 Belmont Racing Ford Taurus. If Mattioli finishes in 15th or higher, Clearbook will receive $25,000, with $250,000 coming their way if he wins. Both contributions are funded by insurance annuities, secured through one of the international leaders in creative insurance solutions, Massachusetts based HCC Specialty Underwriters, www.hccsu.com.
“Our Insurance products have backed prizes and charitable contributions that have ranged from $10,000 Hole In Ones to $10,000,000 Triple Crowns” says Jack Woodbury, HCC’s Sr. Vice President.
“While a win at Daytona would be incredible for our team, drawing attention and support needed by Clearbrook to continue their good work is what is truly important,” Chase concluded.
Information on Clearbrook, and how to make donations, is being posted on Chase’s website, www.chasemattioli.com, or can be found at www.clearbrookinc.com.
The February 6th ARCA Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 is scheduled to get the green flag at 4:30 pm Saturday, and will be broadcast live on Speed TV.
About Clearbrook
Clearbrook Treatment Center
Since 1972, the renowned Clearbrook Treatment Centers have been providing effective treatment programs for adults and adolescents who suffer from alcoholism and/or chemical dependency. Clearbrook’s rehabilitation program is based upon the belief that alcoholism and chemical dependency is a primary disease and that the suffering addict and his or her family members deserve immediate help.
We believe that the alcoholic/drug dependent person has the capacity to abstain from mood altering chemicals and the capacity to actualize his/her human potential; to demonstrate personal freedom and responsibility; to exercise self-determination and personal choice; to realize personal growth and change; and to form meaningful, workable relationships with the world outside of him/herself. These factors are vital to recovery from alcoholism/drug dependence.
The mission of Clearbrook adult rehabilitation is to help the alcoholic/drug dependent adult achieve three long-term goals. These goals are: 1) Abstinence from all mood altering chemicals (sobriety), 2) Utilize the 12 Step programs of Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous to maintain abstinence and recover from the effects of the illness, 3) Begin an improved lifestyle that is chemical free.
Of necessity, the final realization of these long-term goals is a lifelong process, with the inpatient rehabilitation program viewed as the beginning of what must be continued effort to maintain a lifestyle conducive to sobriety.
