Top Ten Things Overheard On the Drivers' Radios at Talladega

Frontstretch Staff · Wednesday October 26, 2011

The two-car tandem at Talladega had drivers using a radio connected to many other competitors on the track. But what was said over those shared channels during 500 miles of racing?

10. “See, Greg? I told you, if we take it easy, we can enjoy these five-dollar footlongs during the race! Am I a genius, or what?”

9. “Please don’t let him go all Robby Gordon on me, please don’t let him go all Robby Gordon on me…”

8. “Michael, you’re not going to do the same thing to me that you did to Reutty in the 500, are you?” “Of course not, Bobby. You have my word…oops.”

7. “What’s that? You need a ‘pit stop?’ Check out my best waterfall impression while you wait…”

6. “Hey guys, it’s Denny. Anyone want to go for a drive this afternoon? Anyone? Bueller? No takers? Can I at least draft with your Mom?”

5. “You know the rules, Denny. Joey’s my lackey..er, teammate. Go get your own.”

4. “Ehh…I’ll let Clint have his last win”

3. “Hey, Trevor…it’s uh…not Jack. Now, how much do you like this ride?”

2. “Hey check out that girl in the checkered bikini top….Oh crap! Sorry Ryan!”

1. “Attention all drivers: barbecue at the 78 truck after the race!”
