Ron Hornaday Gateway Preview

Tuesday July 17, 2007

CHICAGOLAND (ILL.) SPEEDWAY RACE RECAP:

Coming off a weekend in Daytona (Fla.) where rain dictated the team's race events, the No. 77 Dollar General stores team entered Chicago (Ill.) with beautiful weather and a good outlook for the USG Durock 300 at the Chicagoland (Ill.) Speedway. As with most teams during the 200-lap race, the Dollar General Stores crew fought the track and battled a tight-handling condition. Through six caution periods the team continued to adjust the No. 77 and Bobby Labonte maintained a top-20 position, bringing the car home in 16th place.

GATEWAY (ILL.) INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY FACTS & STATS:

NUMBER SIX: Ron Hornaday will make his sixth NASCAR Busch Series start at Gateway (Ill.) International Raceway, where he has an average starting position of eighth and an average finishing position of 11th.

10th NBS SEASON: Ron Hornaday started his 10th season in the NASCAR Busch Series this year when he made his first start in the No. 77 Dollar General stores Chevrolet at The Milwaukee (Wis.) Mile. Making his first start in the Busch Series in 1998, Hornaday has won four races in 173 starts.
