Brad Keselowski WIX Filters Lap Leader of the Race in Winn-Dixie 250

Saturday July 5, 2008

WIX FILTERS LAP LEADER NOTES FOR THE WINN-DIXIE 250 NASCAR NATIONWIDE SERIES RACE AT DAYTONA INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY, JULY 4, 2008.

· Brad Keselowski led once for 28 laps to win WIX Filters Lap Leader of the Race honors in tonight’s Winn-Dixie 250. Keselowski has led at least one lap in nine of the 19 NASCAR Nationwide races this season for a total of 264 laps, the most of any Nationwide Series regular.

· KESELOWSKI QUOTES: “It’s awesome to get the WIX money again. We had a shot at winning it, just got behind there on a pit stop but that happens. There’s going to be days when I’m off, there’s going to be days where they’re off on pit road and you’ve just got to roll with it. We’ll go get ‘em next week. We’re excited about Chicago and feel like I’ve got a great car to go there. It’s a good week to get a top-five out of Daytona. We’re very happy about that.” DID THE LAST CAUTION WORK TO YOUR ADVANTAGE? “I needed it. I went from 10th to fifth on the green-white-checkered. We needed that yellow like 15 laps before that just didn’t get it.” HOW DID YOU GAIN THOSE SPOTS? “We just had a good car and we just needed the field to bunch up to take advantage of it.” YOU RACED DALE EARNHARDT JR., YOUR CAR OWNER, FOR MUCH OF THE RACE. “A blast. That’s a blast, man. I had fun, I really did.” HOW MUCH DID YOU LEARN RACING HIM? “Man, you’re always learning. If you’re not learning in this sport you’re falling behind and I learned some things and put ‘em to use there at the end. I was glad to get a top-five out of Daytona. That’s what we need to do is get top-fives and run up front to have a shot at the championship. Clint had a good night, too, and just a great race. Had a lot of fun out there tonight and hope the fans saw a great show. It sure was fun from my view.”

· Keselowski scored a fifth-place finish in tonight’s race, his sixth top-five and 11th top-10 this season.

· Keselowski leads Scott Wimmer and Joey Lagano by four races (6-2) in the overall WIX Filters Lap Leader standings.

· UNOFFICIALLY Keselowski is second in the Nationwide Series championship standings, 202 points behind leader Clint Bowyer and 16 ahead of third-place Carl Edwards.
