Denny Hamlin’s NASCAR Nationwide Series Win at Daytona Earns Team Elite Milestone

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (July 5, 2008) – Denny Hamlin’s win in Friday night’s NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Daytona International Speedway accounted for more than just his eighth career Nationwide Series victory and his third of the season. It marked Joe Gibbs Racing’s (JGR) 100th professional NASCAR victory.

JGR’s 100 NASCAR wins are broken down as follows:
· 64 point-paying NASCAR Sprint Cup Series wins (six this season)
· 8 non-point-paying Sprint Cup wins (one this season)
· 21 Nationwide Series wins (12 this season)
· 6 point-paying NASCAR Camping Word Series East/West wins (all came in 2007)
· 1 non-point-paying Camping World Series East/West win (2007 Toyota All-Star Showdown in Irwindale, Calif.)

The 17-year-old organization owned by Joe Gibbs, the three-time Super Bowl winner as head coach of the Washington Redskins and a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, has accumulated 12 of its 100 victories at Daytona, including its first NASCAR victory – the 1993 Daytona 500 with Dale Jarrett.

JGR has three point-paying Sprint Cup wins at Daytona:
· 2006 July race was won by Stewart
· 2005 July race was won by Stewart
· 1993 Daytona 500 was won by Jarrett

JGR has seven non-point Sprint Cup wins at Daytona:
· 2008 Gatorade Duel was won by Hamlin
· 2007 Gatorade Duel was won by Stewart
· 2007 Budweiser Shootout was won by Stewart
· 2006 Budweiser Shootout was won by Hamlin
· 2005 Gatorade Duel was won by Stewart
· 2002 Budweiser Shootout was won by Stewart
· 2001 Budweiser Shootout was won by Stewart

JGR has two Nationwide Series wins at Daytona:
· 2008 July race was won by Hamlin
· 2008 February race was won by Stewart
