No. 9 Auto Value Dodge Nationwide Series Preview
Tuesday July 8, 2008
Elliott Sadler prepares to make his second start of the season in the NASCAR Nationwide Series this Friday at Chicagoland Speedway. Sadler, a veteran with 121 Nationwide starts, has visited victory lane five times in the series and hopes to add to that total in the 200-lap event.
His Dodge carries a special Elliott’s BBQ decal on the hood of the No. 9 Auto Value Dodge Charger. On Aug. 22, Sadler’s friends at Auto Value will invade the neighborhood of one lucky contestant and set up an all out BBQ bash for the winner and thirty friends.
The winner will also receive a brand new home entertainment system, courtesy of Best Buy, to watch Elliott Sadler race for the checkered flag. Please visit www.elliottsbbq.com for more information.
In his only 2008 Nationwide Series appearance, Sadler finished 27th at California Speedway. The Auto Value team is looking to improve on its 12th-place position in owner standings.
TV and Radio Times: Qualifying is set for Friday at 4 p.m. (ET) on ESPN2 and MRN Radio. Race time on Saturday is 8 p.m. (ET) on ESPN and MRN Radio.
DRIVER ELLIOTT SADLER QUOTES:
“Chicago is a fun track. It’s one I look forward to. I’ve ran two Nationwide races there and I’ve always enjoyed racing in this division. I spent a lot of years in Nationwide racing full-time and I made some good memories.
“This weekend there will be a lot of Cup drivers racing too. The competition is tough on this side without the Cup drivers, but with them, I think the fans will get to see a real exciting race. The Nationwide regulars are a tough bunch of racers and I always enjoy stiff competition. It’s kind of a throw-back to old school racing and that’s the best kind of racing.

Message Board Quote of the Week: “I don’t see how Rusty + DEI + COT = competitive on the racetrack in 2009. I do see how Rusty could hook a sponsor, though, which DEI needs more than ever with Paul Menard leaving and taking the Menards money with him.” Scott B on rumors that Rusty Wallace would be making a return to NASCAR behind the wheel of a DEI-owned machine
