Joey Logano WIX Filters Lap Leader of the Race in Dollar General 300

Friday October 10, 2008

WIX FILTERS LAP LEADER NOTES FOR THE DOLLAR GENERAL 300 NASCAR NATIONWIDE SERIES RACE AT LOWE’S MOTOR SPEEDWAY, OCTOBER 10, 2008, PAGE 1.

· Joey Logano led twice for 32 laps to earn WIX Filters Lap Leader of the Race honors in tonight’s Dollar General 300. Logano captured the award for the FOURTH time this season. This was the most laps he has led in a NASCAR Nationwide Series race since he led 42 at Gateway (race No. 21). Logano has led 256 laps in six races this season.

· Brad Keselowski leads Joey Logano by three races (7-4) in the overall WIX Filters Lap Leader standings.

· Logano scored a 14th-place finish in tonight’s race.

· LOGANO QUOTES: “We’ve got nothing to show for being the WIX Lap Leader. All we’ve got is a torn up race car because of me. I don’t know what to say about it.” WHAT HAPPENED WHEN YOU GOT INTO THE WALL? “The 10 car in front of me, he’s on older tires, and he’s pretty fast for older tires. I was trying to work a run. Felt like I could get him on the high side in three and four. I went in behind him and I stayed up when he pulled down. I don’t know if it was a gust of wind or something that hit the nose just right and just put me sideways and I couldn’t save it in time. It’s my fault. I wasn’t expecting it to do that. It hadn’t done it all night and it caught me off guard.” WERE YOU SURPRISED TO FINISH AS WELL AS YOU DID WITH A DAMAGED CAR? “No. I really wish we were a lot better. We’re fortunate to get what we got out of it but we lost a lot of points today, too.”
