Stanton Barrett 24th at Vegas

Wednesday March 3, 2010

Stanton Barrett piloted the #31 Fuel Doctor/EZ Slider Cylinder Liners entry for Rick Ware Racing (RWR) to a 24th place finish in the NASCAR Nationwide series at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

“The Fuel Doctor “Green Machine” was great all weekend.  I was excited after Friday’s practice.  I knew we had to qualify in on time, but I felt the car was good enough to easily make the show,” said Barrett.

Barrett made the show, and the team was running solidly in the top 20 for most of the race.  Unfortunately, Barrett suffered a flat tire on lap 125, and he lost 2 laps under a green flag pit stop.

“I felt the tire going down right after the caution. It’s just unfortunate to have something like that happen.  We were going to have a great run, but we had to settle for a little less.  It was good to run the whole race and not damage the car, but it’s really disappointing to have a flat take us out of contention,” Barrett explained.

Barrett also participated in a charity poker tournament at the Stratosphere Hotel and Casino for the Dale Earnhardt Foundation Thursday night.  The tournament was a success, and Barrett seemed to know his way around a poker table.

“I had a great time playing poker and helping raise money for the Dale Earnhardt Foundation. I actually won my table, which was fun, and I had a chance to meet some fans and sign autographs.  I hope they make this an annual event.  I love to play Texas Hold’em Poker, and knowing that it raising money for a good cause makes it even better,” Barrett said.
