No. 6 Roush Fenway Racing News and Notes Heading Into Atlanta:

  • The Driver…Ricky Stenhouse Jr. makes his NASCAR Nationwide Series debut at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Saturday evening.
  • The Organization…Roush Fenway Racing has five wins, 13 top-fives and 22 top-10s in 32 Nationwide Series starts at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
  • The Machine…Stenhouse and the No. 6 Roush Fenway Racing team will sport different colors on Saturday at AMS.  Blackwell Angus Beef will adorn the Ford Fusion for the second of four races in 2010.  CitiFinancial is the primary sponsor for 24 races in 2010 for Stenhouse.  The team will use chassis #RK-296 in the Great Clips 300.  Stenhouse used this chassis three times in 2010 (Bristol, Dover and Chicago).  He finished 25th in Bristol, 18th in Dover and 19th in Chicago.
  • On Air…The Great Clips 300 can be seen live on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010 on ESPN2 with race coverage beginning at 6:30 p.m. EDT.  The event can also be heard live on PRN affiliates beginning at 6:30 p.m. EDT.
  • Locked in…The No. 6 Roush Fenway Racing team sits 23rd in NASCAR Nationwide Series owner point standings and for the ninth consecutive week is guaranteed a spot in the Great Clips 300 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.  The top-30 teams are locked into the event.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. on racing at Atlanta Motor Speedway:

“I can’t wait to get to Atlanta this weekend.  Blackwell Angus Beef has stepped up again and is on the car and it looks awesome.  Even though this is my first race in Atlanta, I’ve been to places that are similar to it so I feel good about the weekend.  We ran really well in Texas earlier this year and AMS is close to that layout.  It’s a one day show so we practice, qualify and race on Saturday.  My goal is to get as much track time during practice so we can work on the car for the race.  Roush Fenway Racing has great success at AMS so we’re looking for big things this weekend in the No. 6 Blackwell Angus Beef Ford Fusion.”

Crew Chief Mike Kelley on racing at Atlanta Motor Speedway:

“Atlanta is a fast track and is a place where Roush Fenway Racing has done well, so we are excited about the weekend.  The one day show puts emphasis on being efficient, but our Blackwell Angus crew is up for the challenge.  Ricky (Stenhouse Jr.) has proven over the last couple of months that he can run up front and I have no doubt that will be the case when we unload in Atlanta.  This team continues to make strides and that is a proud feeling for a crew chief.  There are 10 races left in the season and we can still achieve some of the goals that were set at the beginning of the year.  We’ve got to stay focused and work hard and if we do that, good things will happen.”
