Yep.  He mentioned the "late in my career" deal again, but he doesn't want the "3" now.

And that made me think of something.  I wonder if Teresa and Richard Childress would consider swapping the "8" for the "3?"  Earnhardt's brand is TEI's big money machine.  Maybe someday she'd want to put Kerry's kid in it.  Or retire it forever (with uncle Mike's blessing, of course).  And Lilly could keep his "8."

Reasonable people could work out a mutually beneficial business deal.  So.  I guess this won't be happening.   Grin

I wonder if the fans would let that ride?
I doubt the fans would appreciate, or support, any other dirver, other than an Earnhardt, in the #3.

He'll probably feel better when he's done getting sought after for a new ride.  Once he decides where he's going and what he's doing it'll be easier on him.  I just hope wherever he ends up treats him right.

I wouldn't wanna see Jr in it right now....he's nowhere near the driver his daddy was yet.  If anyone drives it though I'd wanna see an Earnhardt in it.

Well I know she would but Childress, Not a Chance. If she is pulling crap like this then I could imagine what she would do with the famous #3.

IMO the #3 should be Retired for Good but if Teresa got a hold of it she would let anyone have it.

Of course I also think when a driver is Killed then their Number should be retired regardless of who it is. There are PLENTY of numbers for Nascar to use and why not Honor those who made this sport what it is today.

I know alot of people don't think Kenny Irwin did anything for the sport but he gave us his Presence and that was enough to me.

I saw the interview and I think Dale JR is truly unhappy about this situation.  Hope he's able to keep his mind on his racing through all this.  It could be a rough ending to 2007 for him

Either way, with current rules he will have to qualify his way into the first few races next year...
Unless he wins the cup this year Smiley)
