Supposedly at 9:30 AM tomorrow (Thursday) Junior will announce he'll be driving for his own team, JR Motorsports next year, and that Martin Truex Jr. will also leave the team to drive for JR Motorsports. Rick Hendrick will be providing the engines for the team.

Well it looks like Teresa took Dale's bluff and he threw his cards on the table and walked away. Just hope Junior has better luck as a team owner than Michael Waltrip.

Well, now he'll have reliable engines, anyway...

Exactly, and announcing the presser could just be a last-ditch effort to get Teresa and Max to cave.

Good point!

Ya reckon that'd work?

BTW: Thanx for the heads up.

If this happens, I think he is much better prepared for what is going to happen than was MW.  He already has a solid Busch team.  He and Martin are far better qualifiers than are MW and DJ.  Hendrick power... need I comment on that?  Funny, but I think the value of DEI just took about a 50% dump.  Using the COT should theoretically make the transition easier, as well.  Should be an interesting weekend to watch the pre-race show.

If he does leave, and takes Truex with him, I'd be willing to bet Eury Jr would go, too.

Also, you'd be well advised to buy your DEI stuff now, because if the three Juniors leave, DEI merchandise will be worth money on eBay after the company tanks next year.

Dale and Tony Jr. have already said if they stay or go they are a package deal.

Reading between the lines and adding pure unadulterated conjecture I am thinking there's some fire to go with all the smoke surrounding the possible DEI-Yates merger. With Hendrick, Gibbs and RCR the big dogs at Chevy an overture from Ford to Teresa about becoming the manufacturers second team (behind Roush but with Roush assistance) and a big check would appeal to her. She's a business woman simply put. Whether its Ford or Chevy doesn't matter to her the way it does with Junior. Dale said he'd be in a Chevy next year. No response from DEI. He might not have been part of that decision making process. If this comes to pass I'd look for another big merger announcement in the coming weeks.

Good, the farther away from that bi%$# Teresa the better he will be.
I wouldn't give her 1 frichen dime for the company my Father built and myself and rest of my family was supposed to inherit.

Now she can just fade into obscurity....

Buy Teresa, I would say nice knowing ya, but that would be a Lie..

UPDATE-UPDATE-UPDATE-UPDATE

Press confernce has been moved to 11 AM tomorrow (Thursday) SPEED will break into their programming to cover the press conference. The team has sent an invitation to the media to attend. This is not a hoax, and apparently SPEEED has a heads up this is something big.

Yep, ESPN's Nascar now is reporting same, 11 Am EST. on Speed Thursday for a "Major" announcement from JR Motorsports, that will involve Jr.

The article is on the front page of yahoo.  Seems to be the real deal.  I'm not a Jr fan really, but good for him!

I just thought about that Dale Jr. commercial where he did the "press conference" saying he changed his number and all these fans freaked out.

So... that begs the question.  Does Junior have rights to the 8 in his contract or will T.E hold onto it and all those fans will really have to repaint their garage doors, change their tats and cut down their perfectly pruned 8 shrubs?

NASCAR owns the numbers, but has allowed owners to treat them pretty much as theirs. So:
a. Teresa wouldn't voluntarily give up the #8. (Why would she?)
b. But NASCAR could assign it to JR Motorsports, if they so chose.

If that were going to happen, I'd bet Junior already knows it will.
