I thought i heard someone tell me that he was is this true?
Also how old is james? Didn't he win a race in what used to be winston cup what is now called nextel cup in the 1970's?
Or am i thinking of dave marcis?
If hylton ran last night's busch race where did he finish and how many laps did he run?
I'm guessing he probably finished near the end of the field?

He's 71...and yes, he was in the race, but he finished last...he won one race and the Winston Cup way back when, I think I heard them say...in the 60s or 70s...

Found a little bio page on him. In 1966 he got 20 top-'5s in 41 starts. He finished second in points behind David Pearson and was the hands-down choice as Rookie of the Year. And he did all of that with one car and one engine...never wrecked and never lost an engine. He won 2 races his entire career: Richmond in 1970 and Talladega in 1972....never managed to get a championship though.

Thanks GG...I knew they said he won something, it was ROTY, and second in the points...to do that with one car and one engine...VERY impressive!! Many teams can't get through a weekend with just that! LOL

I guess everyone has noticed James has become a regular this year in the
ARCA
series...
I watched the race Friday night and saw a familiar paint job.... Here is James holding a picture of his
OLD
paint job he ran
MANY
years ago... Notice the car number enclosed by a circle, and the sponsor on the rear 1/4 panel "pop kola"
ALSO shown is the car he drove in THIS weeks race... notice the same trates. Nice that some "throw back" things come back around for us "old Time" fans
I ALSO saw a paint job that brought back
INSTANT
memories.... been trying to find a picture of it to post... want to see if
ANYONE
will know the driver who made it famous. The person who drove it this week made their first ARCA start.
