We were supposed to get that storm also, but it ended up not being so bad. The lights flickered during the country music awards, and I got worried but all was okay. Missing my award show would have been as bad as missing a race Smiley I love the kitty in the picture Duck. My cat hasn't been outside in 9 years. Whenever it storms, we usually can't find him anywhere for hours!

It blew through here about an hour ago.  (My cat stays inside)
A little thunder.  The winds weren't as bad as when it blew through Duck's area.  Just raining now...hopefully it will help put out the forest fire down near the shore.  13,000 acres of the Pine Barrens has burnt, and they are estimating at least 17,000 acres before it's over.

NJ Pine Barrens fire update...
Heavy rain helped put out the fire.  70% contained.  Still some smoldering hot spots...

Saw on the news this morning that the fire was 70% contained and thought - WOW that's great!

I hate to see forests burn like that.

A few years ago when I was flying back from Washington, we flew over a huge fire on the East side of the Cascades.  It was magnificent to see from above the clouds and smoke, but it had burned thousands of acres of beautiful forest land.

Glad to see this one is getting under control.

5 homes destroyed, and 13 others damaged...but it could have been a lot worse.
