from Nascar.com...

CONCORD, N.C. -- Roush Fenway Racing announced Wednesday that Greg Erwin has replaced Pat Tryson as crew chief of the team's No. 16 Nextel Cup entry.

"We obviously weren't performing at a level at which Jack expected and a change was made," said Greg Biffle, driver of the No. 16 Ford.

Erwin most recently was the crew chief at Robby Gordon Motorsports for the No. 7 Nextel Cup entry. Prior to the two years at Robby Gordon Motorsports, Erwin accumulated seven years of experience as an engineer at Richard Childress Racing and Chip Ganassi Racing.

"I feel that this is one of the top crew chief opportunities in the Nextel Cup garage," Erwin said. "If you could paint a picture of where you would like to go as a crew chief to give it a shot to win and compete for a championship, this is it. I am also excited about the backing of the engineering department at Roush and the resources they offer.

"The fact that Greg Biffle is the driver was a factor that weighed heavily on my decision. He is a straight forward kind of guy and I look forward to working with him."

Chris Andrews, current Engineering Manager at Roush Fenway Racing, will serve as interim crew chief for Greg Biffle and the No. 16 entry this weekend. Erwin will serve as an advisor on the pit box during Sunday's Coca-Cola 600 before officially taking over crew chief duties on Tuesday.

Wow!  Biffle hasn't been THAT bad!  Hopefully this guy does better with Biffle than he did with Robby Gordon!

Chew 'em up ---- Spit 'em out.
If Greg Erwin doesn't work miracles,
there's plenty more out there. (who can't either)

In politics, they get "Borked".
In racing, they get "Biffled."
Budda--Bing --- Budda--Bang.

Best thing they ever installed in race shops is
revolving doors.
Oh!
And small signs that read, "In".
And large signs that read, "OUT".

Ain't no Pension Plans in NA$CAR.

As I've said repeatedly:

Biffle the perrienial malcontent. He's looking to leave,  Roush is looking to make drastic changes to keep him happy, so Tryson is made the fall guy. I'm actually surprised he's ran as good as he has this year. Though I think it's ironic that he's behind the guy in points that was Pat's driver last year......and he's taken a few weeks off to boot.

So in the last three years Roush has lost:

Mark Martin - Founding Driver
Kurt Busch - 2004 Champion
Jeff Burton - Pillar of the organization
Danny O'Quinn - 2006 Rookie of The Year BGN
Doug Richert - Probably their best crew cheif
Wally Brown - Probably their best engineer
Joey Lagano - Racing's next phenom
Kyle Busch - Say what you will, he can win and he's fast
Pat Tryson - Crewcheif in all 3 Chase seasons
