In a word, "Wow!"
Maybe those old-school fans who belly-ached when NA$CAR shut down dirt track racing were right.

Yeah I know. And to think the track is about an Hour from my house makes it even worse lol. Jr8girl and I have already made plans to go next year because I don't want to miss it another year.

I think Tony better plan on building more seating. From where I was sitting, at home, I could feel the fun. I can only imagine what it must have felt like being there. All things considered, that was the best racing event I've watched in a long time. And to know it was all for a great cause made it even better.
Tony said, after putting it all together and what-all it took, he can't fathom what it takes to put on an event the size of a NASCAR race.
Maybe not, Tony. But on the other hand, NA$CAR doesn't know how to put on an event that is soooo much FUN.
You da man, Tony!
Three cheers and a 21 gun salute.

You haven't seen it YET?!
TruckerMom and I have managed to watch it around 2 1/2 times, along with bits and pieces of it.
Imagine that!
I can't remember watching and re-watching a race in a loonnng time.
I wouldn't be surprised if I/we watch it again.
Great racing and relaxed interviews.
ALL time donated. Proceeds to V.J.G.C.
What's not to like?
Chris! Tyy!
You GOTTA watch this race.

We have satellite Tyy. I'll review the schedules and see if I can find when it will re-air. It's been on for free a couple of times now. Amazing! This race just gets better every time we watch it.

And how about Bobby? For a guy that doesn't have a background in dirt, he did a pretty good job out there.
On another note, the pay per view was worth it. I wish NASCAR would consider doing that. I'm sure it would be met with some criticism b/c of the fee but I for one would be willing to pay 5 or 10 bucks a race to actually see a race instead of a parade of commercials. The Prelude was great and I wish all races were televised that way.

hhuumm I'm guessing IMO ain't gonna happen...
First of all PPV was tried one time for some Nascar race several years back. It was a dismal failure.
Second, I can't see fans lining up to give even
MORE
money to the Frances and line the pockets even more... Commericals are a way of life and people have gotten 'used' to them. MOST People even
COMPLAINED
about the
AWESOME
coverage that we had for the Pepsi 400. It was
FREE
, only had 17 minutes worth of commercials the entire race, and was about all a race fan could ask for. It was about as close to commerical fre (PPV) as you can get. So ,.. go figure
Finally, PPV won't be anywhere near 5 or 10 bucks a race. Look at prices for EVERYTHING PPV. Maybe if you buy the whole race season at once and pay up front you maybe get a deal for around $400. But otherwise everything I see is always $19.95 to $29.95 per event.
Also (and I and kinda using some common sense guess work here)... but if things go to PPV, and commercials are eliminated;... thats means the entire BILL for the race weekend now falls on NASCAR. Hiring TV crew, announcers, production crew, editing, set up, tear down, camera men, cameras, the list goes on and on. This all now comes out of Nascars pocket, and PPV would be the only way they have to recoup those expenses. Might even see a lot LESS things concerning the race weekend. Might elininate happy hour, maybe qualifying, if not for CUP, at least for BGN.
IMO you'd spend your money and see the
race
only
In case no one has noticed the viewship of the races is going down as it is,.. and it's still FREE. Ask someone to pay, and it will fall to non-existent. This would be a BAD idea for Nascar to even consider...
