I can't wait for this weekend's race. And I agree they need to add 2 more road course races to the season.

I'd like to see a street course. Have it run in a different city every year.

Shux Howdy!

Now THERE'S a guy who thinks OUTside the box!  Cool
And I bet he doesn't stay betwixt the lines either.

Combine my thought of a dirt road course with Ren's idea of a street course,........
Hmmmmmmm

All we'd need to do is find a city with dirt streets.
Hmmmmmmm

Meh-hee-ko?

Naw.
After NASCAR, their streets will be paved with gold.  Shocked    Wink   Grin Cheesy

I would like to see more Road Courses as well and I think Nascar should run the All-Start race at a Road Course at least once. Talk about exciting.

Road courses are fine on TV.

Not so much fun to watch in person.

Watkins Glenn and Sears Point always has a Good Fan Base in Attendance...it's all in the Design ! Some of the Courses are rather long and removed from the Spectator Viewing Areas !  Wink

Personally...I could easily take NO road courses.

Dont really care for em in NASCAR.
Watkins Glen is a super, beautiful, fun track im sure...just dont like NASCAR there. Never have liked em..never will I reckon

I do kinda like the GP style city courses idea though.

Left turns ONLY for me!! Wink Give me more short tracks. Dirt would be GREAT!!!!

I've always liked road races because it really does test another side of the drivers skill level.  It's hard to say that these guys are amongst the best if they don't run several kinds of tracks.  I also agree that road races are normally difficult to watch in person, though I love them on television.  I'd love it if they took a track the size of Pocono and turned turn 2 into a bit of a hill (to make it easier to see from the stands) and added a good left and right turn both before and after that same turn.  It would make it like a mini road course where braking and shifting would be a major factor.  You'd have to trim 100 miles from the race, but it would still be very fun.

I live about 2 miles from Portland International Raceway and I have only been to one major event there because it is as boring as can be.  They run Champ cars there.  They had the race just last week, actually.  I guess they get quite a few people there, but I just can't watch because there is no good vantage point and what fun is it to pay $100 for a race you can see 10 X better on tv?

I like the road races.  I'd rather see more short tracks in the series vs. more road course races though.  Also, I think it's cheap to pull in the "ringers" for these two races.  Nothing against those guys at all, but how is a driver ever supposed to get their experience if they're not turned loose on them?  If a team wants to bring in a "ringer", then they should field another car to do it.  Even if it means pulling their primary driver out of the primary car and sticking him in the additional car.  Let the "ringer" get the points in the primary car, but give the main driver his shot.  If I were a driver I'd take it as an insult from the owner, "You're good enough to drive my cars, but only to the left."

Oh, and I think one road course should be in the Chase.  That would keep the "ringers" out of the primary cars too.   Grin

They're not. The goal in Cup is to win, not "get experience."
