How about this?   Run out of gas, the field is frozen and by turn 4 you're almost stopped, Stick it in gear and grind the starter to the line.

The Starter burns up, Then what?

I know the different things a driver can do to get back to the Start/Finish line. I was just wondering what the rules stated. Wink

Hmm. I am not seeing it so much here, but a lot of people were harping on Bowyer being "scored" the leader. IIRC from WGI at least, the pylon scores based on the scoring loops, electronically, and is then checked by the scorers in the tower. Given this happened at the end, Bowyer's physical pass of Biffle would have put him at the top of the electronic scoring, and fixing something unofficial and, essentially, trivial is one of the last things on the track worker's minds when a race is over.

I will say one thing, Nascar knows how to cover their Ass.

I was reading one of the Frontstretch Stories and Nascar had this to say.

Quote
But, according to NASCAR Vice President Jim Hunter, “When the caution comes out like that, the leader of the race has to maintain a reasonable speed to the start-finish line.

I wonder what "Reasonable" means? Is 2mph reasonable, I guess if Nascar says it is then It Is.

This does answer one of my other questions I had asked in this thread, What happens if a car runs out of fuel BUT the driver gets it Re-Fired. Does he still Win?

Guess not since he didn't maintain a "Reasonable" Speed lmao.

They world of Nascar (Grey).
