If you're still not getting the Frontstretch Newsletter in your email inbox daily during the week, here's a taste of what you're missing:

Returning From Lowe's Free Of Hepatitis, Tetanus, And The Like
by Matt Taliaferro

I've always been a packing procrastinator. I may know I'm leaving for a weekend three weeks ahead of time...but I'm not packing until the drop-dead date. So, it came as no surprise to me when that happened again this week. I had a 6:00 AM flight out of Nashville en route to Charlotte on Thursday morning; Wednesday, around 11:00 PM, I was in full-on pack mode, going down the mental checklist and throwing things in my suitcase.

Up bright and early and to the airport with wheels up by 6:20, it was then that the panic hit in mid-air...and on the list of things to forget, this one was clearly the worst.

I had forgotten to get my immunizations!

Of course there's more to it, but it wouldn't be a teaser if I gave you the whole story.  Get exclusive news and views when you sign up today

Have you signed up for the Frontstretch Newsletter?  If not, you're missing out on exclusive content.  Included every week is the Frontstretch Line of the Week picked from the stories that have run all week on the site and in the newsletter.  Check out this week's line of the week:

(On NASCAR taking three pages to explain how to calculate a driver's rating) ...This is NASCAR's problem with statistics; you don't ever see anyone in baseball taking three pages to figure out what makes an RBI. Statistics can prove suspect if the common citizen doesn't know how to calculate them, and a formula in which you need to fractionalize a driver's finishing position, average running position, average speed, and fastest lap within each race and then work with the numbers is just too much for the common fan to understand.--from "Did You Notice" by Tom Bowles
