Can you IMAGINE the money the promoter raked in on this event...
274 entries...

They a the 'alphabet races' on Saturday and started with K (not only that but they are all ''double' race..
Two K races, then two I races, and on up to the A main.
By my count thats 21 races on Saturday... what a great day of racing on Saturday for the fans...

SO lets add up some dollars here...
I see where the pavilion that they race is in almost 1/2 million square feet,.. and the event was sold out every night,.. but looked everywhere and couldn't find what the seating capacity was.  We have a 1/2 mile track, and can put 7,500 fand on ONE side of it,... so since they have fans on both side,... lets just be conservation and say 6000 fans attend.

We'll figure all this on the 'low' side and know it'll probbaly be even MORE
Ticket prices are $185 for a 5 day pass.  that'll be the CHEAPEST seats.  obviously if you could by anything 'daily' it would add up to more than that, so $185 for 5 days would be the best bargain.  SO 6000 seats x $185 would come to $1,110,000.  Not bad for ticket sales.  Just over 1.1 million.
Now lets look at entry fees for the competitors.  The "entry" for the Chili Bowl was $150 per car. (it you entered before the deadline .. $200 if you entered late).  SO lets just assumed ALL the drivers entered early, and we know they didn't.
274 race cars @ 150 per car is $41,100.
Now add to that pit passes.  On an average it'll take 4 or more people per car to function for the week. (that'll be on the low side, but we'll go with that)  You have to figure the driver, his wife, crew chief, and one other member... we are up to four already, and that is a 'short' crew... but since we are figuring everything 'short' we'll go with 4 folks per car.  They could buy a multi-day pitpass for an 'average' of $35 per person.
SO lets add this up.   274 race cars X 4 people per car = 1196 pit passed... now multiply that times $35 per pit pass and you get another $38,360

SO as an income the promoter would add pit passed, entrys, and ticket sales and have $1,189,460
Nice income... NOW add in what the sponsors brought to the table.  Lucas Oil provided the HBO pay-per-view coverage.  DODGEhad to pay a HUGE chuck of money because 'afterall' it was called the "Dodge" Chili Bowl.  Also involved were Bass Pro Shops, O'Reilly Auto Parts, CAT, and Creek Nation Casino.  These were major sponsors....
All of these companies sure had to poney up some fairly decent bucks to be involved...
Add what they contributed to the almost 1.2 million in ticket sales, and the promoter had a pretty HUGE income.

Now of course he had plenty of expense.  He had to rent the center, haul in dirt (and move out), pay out the purse, etc...
But I wish we could figure out how to make our Wrld Crown event this successful  Smiley
