YA know.. Just Maybe we could end up with more than 10 drivers in the chase yet...

I SAY since Yeley's teamates Stewart, and Hamlin are 11th and 12th... heck fire,.. he could just go and punt Johnson early in the race at Pocono and do it good enough where he finishes close to last.

Stewart and Hamlin make up around 70 points minimum (even if Kenseth wins) and presto-chango we have 12 cars in the chase.
HAHAHAHAHHA

Seriously,... I think it'd be asking too much to get Edwards or Kurt Busch into the chase at this point,... but at THIS point,... ANY of the folks from 3rd to 12th can get in or get booted OUT

1   Jimmie Johnson      2789 Leader
2   Matt Kenseth        2721 -68
3   Jeff Burton           2478 -311
4   Kyle Busch            2455 -334
5   Mark Martin           2451 -338
6   Kasey Kahne         2445 -344
7   Dale Earnhardt Jr.  2428 -361
8   Kevin Harvick        2408 -381
9   Jeff Gordon          2342 -447
10 Greg Biffle            2342 -447
11 Tony Stewart        2331 -458       -11
12 Denny Hamlin*      2324 -465       -18
13 Carl Edwards         2196 -593      -146
14 Kurt Busch            2136 -653      -206

You know this is around the time were Johnson starts to do badly. So it could happen.

I was hearing the announcers saying yesterday... the next 7 races is typically when he scores his worst points...
SO yeah,.. you could be right... Could depend on Kenseth who gets in
You KNOW he would LOVE to do good enough to keep GORDON OUT

This race last year, Matt Kenseth was around 18th or so, I believe...so I'm not counting ANYONE in the top 15 out yet. Smiley

The numbers used above were from last week.  Here are the post Pocono numbers.

7   -1   Kasey Kahne   -424
8   +4   Denny Hamlin*   -425
9   --   Jeff Gordon   -427
10   +1   Tony Stewart   -462
11   -4   Dale Earnhardt Jr.   -477
12   -2   Greg Biffle   -506
13   +1   Kurt Busch   -628
14   -1   Carl Edwards   -697

Only 82 points between 7th and 12th.  Edwards can't make it and Jr. better pull it together or he won't.  The only way Jeff or Tony won't make it is likely to be if they are punted by someone.  Indy and the Glen are great tracks for both of them.

I think Jr will get in while Denny drops out.

I've been saying that for weeks in MD that it could happen that we get more than 10 in.  But I keep getting shot down by people and their stats comparing last year when only 10 got in.   Roll Eyes  LOL

It maybe a long shot.. but if JJ finds trouble it could happen.  I'd like to see it personally.  Just something a little bit different before Francie screws things up by making changes for next year.
