With the offseason coming to a close, Monday brings the return of all of your favorite columnists.  Included in that is Fanning the Flames.  If you've never seen the column, check it out.  http://www.frontstretch.com/mtaliaferro/12892/  And be sure to send in your questions right away to matt.taliaferro@frontstretch.com and then look for it each week on Thursdays.

To our favorite 'Stretch Heads:

First off, I speak for the entire staff when I say welcome back for another season here on the Frontstretch. We're looking forward to once again supplying you with the best across-the-board racing coverage on the web. And thanks, Beth, for firing up this thread.

Now I know that the season hasn't officially started and that some of you are still in winter hibernation. That said, Fanning the Flames, Frontstretch.com's weekly Q&A column, has been down a cylinder in Preseason Thunder. This column, more than any other, is yours; without your participation it does not exist. I've been writing for the Frontstretch for one year now, and have been welcomed by you, our readers, with open arms. Your questions last season helped to make Fanning the Flames one of the most read columns on the site.

For this column to continue we need your help. Your questions, comments and rants — your Voice — keeps the column alive and thus far, her engine is sputtering. So let's get 2008 started like we did in '07... It's time for this column to go racing, but it needs some fuel to take the green.

Most of you know how to get in contact with me. For those who do not, just click on the following address and let me know what you're thinking. We're all looking forward to hearing your voice... and you wouldn't want me stealing Marty Smith's questions in your absence, right?

Matt.Taliaferro@frontstretch.com

Thanks!

Well, here in Iowa anyway, we build these big buildings, call them 'barns' and invited the cows in and feed them all the hay and feed they can eat! (We don't actually tell them WHY we do though!)

Skool..dont forget the molassas in that feed either that REALLY helps fatten em up.Boy these city folks are....not the smartest bull in the pens  sometimes huh? Its not their fault though, bless their hearts..they just dont know.

Jez...we farm folks even got indoor plumbin now Wink Just kiddin..But seriously "Country" and "Farm" dont mean dumb, folks!

HH no offense but Ive never used the word "fodder" for "feed" in my life.

(I grew up on a farm, my Grandpa farmed 300 acres and raised Angus Cattle, and hogs. And we riased Chickens, snd Sheep. Ive thrown more bales of hay and straw, and loaded so many bags of feed  then I even care to remember. I sure was strong though! Its where I learned to drive trucks and I got a job driving a milk truck (not the kind that delivers to houses and stores, but the kind that picks milk up at the farm) when I was just 16.  More kids today could stand to learn the work ethics we learned on the farm then IMHO)
