I am in the process of moving the Frontstretch to another host.  Be aware that anything that you post to the board today or tomorrow  may not be there on Monday.

Thanks!

I guess it depends where you live...
Around here WalMart used to carry kits.. now they have completely STOPPED carrying NASCAR anything (go figure).. also stopped carrying modeling anything... no brushes, no modeling paint, etc...
Now, you can find stuff at places like Hobby Lobby, Michaels, etc.
I am sure there are other places, like speciality hobby and modeling stores, but we dont have any where I live.

The "kits" you can buy (or could buy) come like a 'model'.... just have to put them together, and the body is already painted.  SO no painting or anything is required.  Pretty simple.
What I have went to doing is just buying diecast off of eBay or from various othe sources that have finished diecast.  You can often find lesser known or 'wanted' diecast for REAL cheap... as little as $10 each.
I bought a bunch of 2002-2005 Chevy diecast of Jeff Green for $10 each.  (remember don't matter if it comes with a CUP or NNS paint scheme.. the body is what you need)
Then I take the car apart,... I remove the windows, etc... get some stripper and remove the paint... spray it with a coat of primer,.. then the color of whatever car I want to make (in the case of the Mayfield car it was the old Hugger Orange).  Then there are MANY place that make quality decals for around $10.  you then decal the car and... voila... you have whatever car you want for your collection.
I can send you to the list of decal suppliers,... and also a GREAT discussion board about modeling.  Just a matter of how involved you want to get and who you want to build.
I am about to finish my Mayfield car...  then I am working on a Bowyer / Jack Daniels car... next will be a Mark martin / Viagra car followed by a Newman / AllTel car.  After that I'll probably build a couple (what they call DARKSIDE) cars (anything before 1972... it's Back in the Day" cars)  Probably a couple Superbirds that someone raced.
Here is what I built so far.  If I can be of any help.. please just ask
