yeah.. that two tire change call made by the crew chief was what made the difference.
Gotta give Speed credit... first time ever at the tough, fast Dover track.  Qualified 4th,.. run in the top 5 all night, and got to the front with that good call.  Stayed there the last 80 laps, so he did some good driving.

They said he'll keep driving the same series he has been this year,.. but might run a couple CUP races before the year is over.

I'm really liking this kid.  Good attitude, for sure.  He says he does not want to hurry things along too quickly.  He gives great credit to his sponsor, saying they have been nothing but wonderful.  Red Bull seems to be in racing for all the right reasons.  Kudos all the way around.  He'll be in Cup by next year but maybe not full time.

Who knows... Looks how much Allmendinger struggled,.. and RedBull stood behind him.
Speed is showing success (at least in lower series)... so if he comes to CUP he'll have some seat time and experience on the tracks.  Given the same chance AJ got... Speed should be OK by next season.... How about a THREE car Red Bull team..??

With the improvements we've seen so far, Red Bull could certainly be ready to add a third car by the time Speed is ready to move up.  I'd like to see him at the very least finish out the season in the trucks, but since he's not running every race the rest of the season, it might be nice to see him spend the next year running at least a few truck races.

I don't know if any of you saw his interview on Wind Tunnel but he came off as kind of arrogant and condescending.  I still think he's a good driver but he needs to get rid of some of that "I'm better than these pee-on's in NASCAR drivers" attitude.  He actually said he thought Kyle Busch was the only NASCAR driver that maybe has enough skill to drive F1.

Who does this guy think he is?

On a side note, am I the only one who has never tasted Red Bull?  This isn't about racing, it's just that I've never felt the need for an energy drink.

I think your reading into what Speed Said ! I watched their entire episode and at no time did he infer that he was better than anyone else . What he did say was that he felt quite confident that at some point he would be competent and not look silly within a Cup Ride . The Point of the Kyle reference was that Scott felt it would be more practical for a driver of Kyle's age and proven driving ability to be capable of competing within F-1 within a certain amount of time 2-3 Yrs , was what he actually felt would be the minimum . Driver's like Jeff Gordon or Mark Martin or Jeff Burton...etc may have the Talent but due to their ages , would probably not get much of a sniff from within F-1 at this Time . As for the Energy Drinks I agree ...don't have any use for chemical induced energy...lol !

Speed wins again...
ARCA race at Kentucky.
Kid is looking good... running up front.. logging laps, and being there at the end when it counts.  Posting some wins in ARCA and CTS.
Even 2nd in points in the ARCA series

I'd say we'd see him in a CUP car a few times yet this season... and maybe a full time CUP ride next year.  Kid catches on quick
