really.. I thought the race was pretty good.
Just becase there ISN'T a lot fo wrecks,.. or a lot of yellow flags does NOT mean the race isn't any good.
There was a good race for the lead for a while between Biffle amd Edwards,.. and Busch was always lurking.
Then when they had green flag pit stops the pit crews were under the gun.  they had to be on their toes.. and the drivers have to be on top of their game getting onto thet tricky pit road as fast as possible.... and watch not speeding on pit road.

Busch ONLY took the lead because he got ONTO pit road faster than anyone else and gained some time each green flag pit stop.  He was NOT faster on the tracks than the two Roush cars...
IMO this is a case of know WHAT to what at a race to keep yourself entertained.

There were great races throughout the field.. drivers fighting to be the lucky dog, racing for position, ... always can take along a stop watch and watch (time) to see how fast the leader is gaining time on your favorite driver, etc.
IMO this is the way racing is GOING to be for years to come... folks that choose to attend races best go prepared to watch all aspects of what is going on.
I used to go to races back 30 years ago when only 4 or 5 cars finished on the lead lap... I NEVER failed to find stuff to keep myself entertained for 500 miles.

Empty seats are a result of high gas prices and that's on top of high ticket prices. TV ratings are up because those "empty seats" are sitting at home watching the race.

 I feel your pain.

Gotta agree with Chris, definitely didn't think the race was a bad one this weekend. Green flag pit stops are always exciting, and while the leader did break free whenever in front the racing through the field was excellent...Kvapil, Burton and McMurray were fighting for 100s of laps.

And despite the empty seats we're growing accustomed to seeing, the race drew a decent crowd.

Now here's a man that knows how to think! You are dead on Shayne.  Plus, the good thing about home.....I can go to sleep if I want. Hard to do in grandstand seats.

But don't worry folks! Brian France is 'looking into' and 'studying' the current trends and patterns that high gas prices are inflicting on NASCAR. He is going to give us more value in other ways. I know he will. He said so.

The race would have been alot better if alot of the really good cars had not gotton involved in Sadler's wreck.

I'll second that... especialy Hamlin.  I had him in my fantasy game.  Cost me a bunch of points, and finishing in the money.

When one wreck hits half the current chase field, the race is going to be meh.   And when the race goes green for 146 laps, a lot of cars are going to get lapped.

Maybe yes.. maybe no...
I've been to GOOD races that went green for 300 laps... or in some cases like Michigan were good that went green from flag to flag

Shux Howdy!

I remember when a Talladega race was rained out and never started,
and the race on Monday went green to green.

Some folks thought that was "boring".
I reckon those are the folks who tune in just to see "the BIG one" -- or more (the better?)
But, then again, some folks think a baseball no-hitter is a "boring" game.
Imagine that and
go figure.

A baseball no-hitter....ah a baseball fan's dream...especially if it's your team that does it.  I wouldn't necessarily say long green flag runs are boring.  It was actually rather interesting to see Greg Biffle fall off and then gain some of his ground back.  A caution would have handed all that track position back to him.  Sure it wasn't a great race as far as my two favorite drivers are concerned, and sure I'm tired of seeing that 18 in victory lane...but I was tired of seeing the 48 in victory lane too....but it was still a good race.  Green flag pitstops always make me antsy.  It's that time when the pit crew's accuracy matters the most.

I'm afraid people better get used to it...
Just like people that didn't like Dale Sr had to get used to seeing him win so much.... or non-Gordon fans had to get used to seeing him win.
If this car is all about "who can drive it"...  I see lots of wins for the 18 and 99
