Well I know MANY of you folks on here have stated you do NOT like Bill Weber...
Well don't look now,.. but.... HE's Baaaaacck

Bill has already been signed for 2007 for TNT.
Guess we'll all have to get used to him huh...

Quote
With NASCAR's current TV deals expiring this season, networks with new deals kicking in next year are putting together on-air lineups. A piece of those puzzles settled early: TNT, airing six midseason NASCAR Nextel Cup races next year, will announce Monday that Bill Weber will be the host and call play-by-play on its races. Weber said he "talked briefly" to ABC/ESPN, which next year inherits NASCAR late-season coverage from the current joint venture of NBC and TNT that Weber currently hosts.

W H A T?!

"Get used to" Bill Weber?  Shocked Sad

I can put up with Bill, but "get used to" him?  Roll Eyes
No way. Sad

Same for Dick Bergren.
Ever since Dick wrote an ignorant article critical of truck drivers -- I lost most respect for his ability to write accurate stories. Undecided
ALL of the writers here at Frontstretch are better writers than Dick is. He's over the hill, over his head and out to lunch. Ran out of talent. Send Dick back to Skool -- in a really small town in Iowa. He might learn a thing or two. Wink Grin Cheesy

That being said ------------------------------------------------------------------

Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday dear Chris..........................
Happy birthday to you.

And many more................................... ................

Yeah buddy!!!!

Ice cold Corona with a twist of lemon.
That's what birthdays are made for.
Enjoy.

I'm savin' the spankin' for Indy picks.
I really need a top two finish. Cool Wink Cheesy

Hopefully ABC will land Alan Bestwick to join Dr. Jerry & Rusty...NBC/TNT made the biggest mistake in moving him to a pit reporter.

I really don't care who's in the booth, pits or where ever.  I'm thankful for all the coverage on TV we get these days.  I've been a racing fan since 1950 when there was no coverage at all, period.  I know there's plenty to complain about with broadcasts these days, commercials and all, but think about it!  How would you like to be a fan of a sport, and receive nothing about it from the media.

PS:  Thanks Cami for the heads-up about this site.

Being one who sees the glass as "half full" as opposed to "half empty", I can see your point(s) -- and tend to agree.
But, I still feel a tad hot under the collar. The reason why is, the way NA$CAR has managed to reduce the most loyal fans of any sport -- or entertainment, to a bent-over position with an attidude of "they're just fans. Plenty more where they came from." They'll complain as Brian makes "small" changes that he claims are what the fans want. They're just too stupid and red-necked to ever notice the changes, or know they don't want the changes. When they finally figure it out, what are they going to do about it?
It's not like the zombies are really gonna pack-up and leave.

As fans, we're all just a dollar sign -- a transportation device for a full wallet

Which Brian tries to assist -- by separating the contents of said wallet from loyal fan.

What's a sport without fans? Same as a fan without a sport?
Both need each other to exist. Brian acts as thought he's doin' us a favor by making rules as he goes along. Now, we're being told what we like, and how we like to watch it, and when we like to watch it.
Without even watching US, Brian knows these things.
With a Masters in Rule Making 101 and Creative Rules Making and Enforcing, Brian watches from on high.

Bottom line, Brian has personally taken it upon himself to ignore what the fans say they want, and do whatever Brian wants.
They wrote a musical about Brian's sister Lola, and it also describes Brian.

Whatever Brian wants, -- Brian gets/takes. All the while the complexion of racing is changing at a rapid rate. But, with Brian in "control" , the outcome can also be pre-planned -- to save time
Some think that's due to Brian's fondness for certain drivers. Not so.
It's the money. Nothing else really matters (to Brian) Follow the Money Trail.

From a sport -- to "entertainment".
Auto racing will long feel the effects of Brian.

When things heat up too much, I predict ol' Brian wiil bail out , --- selling the whole kit and kabootle to Japan as a turn-key operation.

But only because the fans want him to.

By the way Butterbean,
W E L C O M E
to Frontstretch!!

We have more fun here than a human being should be allowed to have.
And we do so on a regular basis.
Stick around awhile, and post often.
You'll see.  Wink Grin
