Don't Blame NASCAR for INDY, Blame INDY...........

I have read how it is NASCAR's fault that this past Indy race sucked until I am blue in my fat face. NASCAR didn't grind the damn track, INDY did. And while we are on the subject, why is Indy considered such a crown jewel on the Cup circuit anyways? Indy is a track where if you actually ATTEND a race you can see less of the race than if you were at a road course race. Indy is a track with ZERO NASCAR historical significance. Indy is not even a track that is the longest running race track in America, Milwaukee is. What the hell does Indy have to do with NASCAR?
Oh, Indy is a Mecca for open wheel kittycats. Who cares? Indy is where those kittycats from F1 screwed American F1 fans with a race where 3/4 of the field withdrew because of tire issues. Indy is the place where you CANNOT watch the Indy 500 live ANYWHERE in Indianapolis unless you are at the race track. Indy is the place where NASCAR CANNOT run a 500 mile race because even the 400 mile race relegates the Indy500 to a second class race. Hell, the Coke 600 relegates the Indy 500 to a second class race so what does that say? So why kiss the bricks? Why drink the milk? It is more of Brian Frances dream of........... well hell, I just don't KNOW what of. Indy sucks. It's a crappy track and they treat Stockcar racers and races like crap. Screw them.
Edit
NASCAR did the best they could under the circumstances with the crap Indy threw them. They could not cancel the race nor would they jeopardize the driver we love. Someone tell me what else could have been done on a ****ty track that folks seem to idolize? I know this is a website of folks who hate NASCAR and Brian France yet never miss a race but just damn, what should NASCAR have done differently? Yeah I know; Fire Goodyear. That would have REALLY been effective for this race (not that I don't think that's a good LONG term solution). my solution would be FIRE INDY. Screw them. They use us (NASCAR, it's races, and fans) to pay for their crap and then turn around and grind the track before OUR race. FIRE THEM. That would put two races back on NASCAR tracks, not open wheel kittycats tracks. Oh and while we are talking about open wheel kittycats, those INDY LEAGUE boys have really been showing us how to tote the mail haven't they? Bunch of kittycats.........
EDIT: Wow, last night the word I typed, printed. Today it is "kittycat." I guess some PC person complained. How apropos for this site. I remember now why I don't come here often. Or is the word come going to be changed as well because it can have some "untoward" meanings. Just damn. And YOU people whine about Brian France censorship. I smell the overwhelming stench of hypocrisy

Blame NASCAR, blame Indy, blame Goodyear. It doesn't really matter who we blame because it certainly won't change the junk we saw Sunday. Goodyear was well aware that this tire was going to be crap....Dale Jr. was one of the guys that tested this tire, and they were wearing out then within 5 laps.
And I personally like Indy....

Bubba,
I don't see where any of Sunday's race can be blamed on Indy. I don't think the track was just ground prior to the race. I'm sure someone here can tell us the last time they ground the track. Certainly, Goodyear's tire test back in April was performed under the same track conditions as last weekend.
Indy is a significant track for all of motorsports. Whether I like stock cars racing at Indy or not, NASCAR has been running there since 1994. I'm not a fan of running Cup cars on flat tracks or road courses. Give me high speeds and the high banks to handle it. When Brian France hands me the keys to NASCAR, I'll be sure to add and delete the tracks I prefer accordingly.
Lastly, NASCAR did not do their best last weekend, it was far from their best. Unfortunately, as a devoted race fan, NASCAR's "best" has been a pathetic disappointment.

I agree with Shayne. Nascar CHOSE no to have all the cars test there and yes they did have Junior, Kurt and Vickers test, their tires were ugly after 15 laps. Nascar knew this and still decided not to test there. 100% their fault. Indy hadn't done anything to the track. It was all about the COT and its first race there. Nascar was UNPREPARED and good hard working fans wasted their money to see that fiasco. They came out and apologized? They don't care, they got their money. If they cared they would do something for the 300,000 fans that attended

Here's the deal with Indy, the way I see it.
NASCAR is not the premier event there, nor the track's main concern. IMS is, and should be, more concerned with a little race called the Indianaopolis 500. Thye opened up to NASCAR, but they are not a NASCAR track. Asking them to change to accomodate NASCAR would be no different than if the IRL decided to race at Daytona and demanded all kinds of changes-not their track, shut up and race it the way it is or go race somewhere else.

It was several years ago that they diamond ground the corners of the track, and tire wear increased then....this was just the result of the new car gripping different, and NASCAR and Goodyear not heeding the warning signs...and I agree, if they HAD allowed the teams to test (not just a few) before the race, this could have been avoided.
Oh well, on to next year.

Of course it's me and I always do, much to the displeasure of the fat, dumb happy masses. Especially FS_ Amy. NASCAR bring more dollars to the track and to Indianapolis as a whole than does that useless openwheel race they hold there. There is a REASON no one watches the Indy 500 anymore. The Coke 600 gets more viewers on Memorial Weekend than the Indy 500. The Indy 500 is a loser race. As far as races go, the Daytona500 was topped only by the Superbowl, the Summer Olympics, and The WorldCup Soccer championship by Forbes Magazine as the biggest (read most money making events) in sports. What what the hell does Forbes know?
You are right Amy on one point and since you either didn't read it as I wrote it or understand it the first time let me reiterate:
PULL THE NASCAR RACES FROM THAT WEAK ASSED TRACK AND MOVE THEM TO NASCAR TRACKS.
Did you understand it that time? I really do not know how to be more clear but am open for suggestions.

Wow!
Didn't know changing one word out for another was controlling the way people think!
At any rate kids, take note. Don't be a "some time" poster and come into this forum with a 'tude. You cross the line, your out. Simple as that.
Nuff said.

Such a shame that one bad apple will require me to lock this thread.
And I have news for you Bubba...if anyone is going to ban you, it'll be me. Skool changed the word because there are some things that we just don't tolerate being written on a family board...period...end of story. If you don't like the rules, then kindly find another place to post.
