Right now does have Schrader listed in starting line up

I wondered that yesterday afternoon, even before qualifying was officially rained out...

It makes the most sense guys.  Schrader has nothing to lose, he isn't going to win and he is going to get paid so who cares.  He races everything anyway Cheesy.  HOFR will get HUGE money from JGR and HD to put Joey in there.  They have to start from the rear but Schrader was already back there.  They can make changes to the car, the ones that Joey had on the 02 because they are already going back to the rear.  With how fast he was yesterday DLP would be honored to have that kid get in the car and race it 6 times.  Ask yourself this question, who is going to get a better finish?

Well I ask myself this....
Everyone is "expecting" Joey to come in and make a big splash in the CUP series or they are gonna say he moved up to the CUP ranks too soon...
I see it this way...
IF he ran 7 races in the JGR cars,.. like he practiced yesterday... I can see him running well and posting respectable finishes.
IF he ends up running 6 races in that piece of junk #96 car... we should NOT expect a lot from him.  That car hadn't done anything all year.  You could put Kyle Busch or Carl Edwards in that car and it would do well to finish in the top 20.
SO if we judge Joey and his performance ... we need to keep in mind what car he is driving... compare him against what THAT car has done so far THIS year.  IMO THAT would be a fair comparison

Chris,
I would have to say we are going to see the 96 car run real well in the races Joey is in.  JGR will give a lot of resources to make sure that car runs well.  Joey is not going to run bad IMO.  I think they are going to be good.
I would have thought we would have heard something by now so I am getting less and less confident in this prediction Grin

It is stupid enough to put him in a race that is very important to alot of guys yet alone putting him in a car that he didn't even practice in. The kid is only 18. I think he has plenty of time to make his first race. No need to rush it.

I see it this way...
I don't see a problem with him starting this race in the car he practiced.   THIS race don't count for any more or any less points than any of the previous races this season.   And IMO I think he has as much talent as several of the CUP drivers that have driven all season long.

I'm not sure, but I think NASCAR has a rule about putting a "rookie" into a car he hasn't driven all weekend.
I think that rule was put in to keep a guy that can't drive a lick from having someone qualify his car for him, then making a driver swap for the race.... so I'm pretty sure there is some kinda rule about the guy has to have some kinda track time in the car before the race... something along those lines if I'm not mistaken...??

IMO Logano making a "mistake" in this race and taking out someone is much less of a deal than him racing in the last 10 races and maybe making a "mistake" and taking out one of the 12 guys in the chase... either of which is possible by ANY driver on the track.  We see it happen every year.  SO if it happens,... I usually just chalk it up to racing luck.  ONLY if a guy is driving "over his head" and getting a crazy do I not do that,... and so far I've never saw Logano do that.

well, at least if Joey has to wait until New Hampshire to make his debut, he'll be doing it at a track close to home, since he's from CT

If that's true...what a CRAPPY thing to do to one of the sport's veterans-a true winner and a class act.   Angry

well Schrader would have to agree to let this happen as well so if it were true it would have his blessing.  He is a class act.  Looking more and more like Joey will drive the 02 HD car at Loudon and find another race for the 96 car, possiby Dover.

So what's the difference if Schrader is in the race and wrecks one or more of the chase drivers?  I think a lot of people are making a big deal out of this for nothing.  Just because Joey "could" wreck someone doesn't mean it's different than if Junior wrecks someone in the chase.

At least Junior and Schrader have the experience in the series.  How would it make Joey look toward the fans of the driver that got taken out whether it was because of something of Joey's doing or otherwise?  And especially if he ended up involved in a wreck that made a difference of whether a bubble driver made the chase.  TF20 is right...there's no need to rush his debut.  It'll come soon enough...Joey proved that in practice.

Actually, Schrader would not have to give his blessing or "agree" to anything.  He can be released for any reason at any time.  He doesn't have to like it.  But it's a classless thing to do to him in any respect.  IMO, when Logano has as many top ten points finishes as Schrader, then you can kick Schrader out for him.  Until then, it's a lousy thing to do.
