My take from the dawg house, on Kansas both the race, & the track.............

Looks like Kansas is getting a second date. With the tracks out there that can't get a first date & the ones that really deserve a second. This seems to me as a good example, of why NA$CAR is in the shape it's in. Don't get me wrong. There are several ISC tracks, that need to lose a date. I just think that there are much better places to put one.
Tony, he again showed the NA$CAR world the his worst side. The sense of entitlement, & anger that's always just below the surface. Had I been the gas man I would have homesteaded on his hood. He's out of championship contention, mostly by his own hand. The tape incident for qualifying, to me shows how deep the cracks are in the team.
The only thing I wonder about, is without Coach( who is a master at dealing with prima donnas.) How things are going to go next season. A season which is almost sure to have a high level of frustrations. Will the real Tony Stewart please stand up.
I'm still a little mystified how a driver can run through another pit. Park the gas man on his hood. Then go out on track, & nail, or in this case attempt to nail. The offending car, with NA$CAR turning a blind eye. It dose however, look like the only thing the JGR cars will be chasing in this chase. Will be their tails.
The race, another Car of Crap race at a Cookie Cutter track. What, 266 (I'm too lazy to look it up) mostly mediocre laps. With the only drama coming on pit road. Then a final lap that will go down in the highlight clips, along with the Craven, Busch finish.
He went into that final lap knowing exactly what he had to do with JJ taking his top line. He put on the classic dirt track slide job. Knowing he was going too fast, but also knowing it had to be that fast to eliminate any chance of not clearing JJ. I've seen slide jobs that didn't clear, & they ain't pretty.
This shows me why Cousin Carl, Deserves to be, & will be a Champion. If not this year, then soon.

Dawg, I agree with most of your "take". I think it will come down to Cousin Carl vs. Big Jim Johnson. Let's hope it all comes down to the finale at Homestead.

The pit deal with Tony and the 83 team was a strange deal. Guys drive through other people's pit stalls all the time. The strange thing was why the gas man was still in the pit stall and not over the wall already. The 83 car was long gone at that point. It was almost like he stood there on purpose to slow Tony down. Those 2 teams did have issues with eachother the stop before that. As for what happend on the track after that. I thought it was done on prupose but Tony said on his radio show last night that it was not done on purpose. That it is tight coming off turn 4 and that his car pushed up into Brian. I guess now looking back if it was done on purpose Tony would have made damn sure he wasn't the one spinning out.

Hey, if Tony said it wasn't done on purpose, that's good enough for me.
BTW, I know a man who has a bridge for sale. It's a little steep for me. Do you wanna go halves on it with me?
Seriously, I guess he COULD be telling the truth, but when you give it the duck test. It looks a little fishy, except you don't see too many fish with pin feathers. You are correct, When Tony wants to take someone out. They're usually out.
I'm reminded of Daytona, when after complaining of unsafe driving. Saying if it didn't stop. Someone was going to get killed. Then during the race swerving across the entire track at 190mph to take out Matt. Go figure.
As I said next year could be a very interesting year for Tony.

I'll agree
100%
with your take on Tony... and his action for next year...
IMO the ONLY thing keeping him in line the last several years has been Coach Joe Gibbs...
I remember Coach not letting him and Hamlin going out on the track to practice at one race until
AFTER
he had a chance to "TALK" with both of them and basically put them in their place...
Coach was running late, and they missed track time.... and NEITHER got to practice until Coach got there and said his piece.... but the message was sent... Coach runs the show in the JGR camp. Tony always remembered that.
SO.... whats gonna happen. I'll remind everyone Tony has always said his hero was AJ Foyt. "Back in the Day" AJ was always one to speak his mind, and then it was OK, and you didn't have to worry about pleasing sponsors, pleasing the series, and being politically correct.
I think Tony will do the same thing
NOW
> Problem is this is another time, and another place. I think Tony will act up, and instead of Coach Gibbs putting Tony in his place it'll be NASCAR.
They'll probablly give him one "gimme".. bring him in and give him a good talking to with no assessments... but Tony will act up again and they lower the boom on him. The third time it happens, won't surprise me if you see the first driver suspended since Kevin Harvick
Remember you heard it here first...

What can Tony do worse than his deal with Matt at Daytona and the 02 deal at Indy? None of those things got him suspended. It will take ALOT for him to get suspended. I honestly don't see him acting any worse next year than he has in the past. I actually think you'll see alot happier Tony. He'll be back with Chevy and will be able to call his own shots. Only thing that concerns me is if they struggle really bad but I don't really see that happening.

I hear what you are saying TF20... and you make some good points.
Granted he'll be getting resources from Hendrick... of course I don't think Hendrick is going to give him "Everything" they have,.. that would just be stupid. IMO I think they'll help him out, help him get started, and get on his feet, but I can't see them giving them
all
THEIR knowledge.
As far as Tony being his own boss,.. thats where I see him getting into trouble. I DO see the team struggling from time to time. He'll have to wear TWO hats, (actually
three
)... Be a driver, a team owner, and also have to get sponsors. Thats a big bite to take.
I keep remembering back to a sprint car race just a couple month back when something didn't happen he liked (where he was the car owner) and he went over and hit the official...
Sure... I think we'll see some of this (maybe not that severe) from time to time. IMO he's been under the radar for a while
ONLY
because Coach Gibbs has kept his thumb on him.
