This is the 10th year that I have been a fan.  I'm originally from the West coast and moved to Charlotte.  You kind of have to know something about NASCAR to carry on a conversation with about 1/3 of the people there.  I still love the sport, I just wish they'd show it on tv.  I end up having to put my computer on a tv tray and pay more attention to that than I do the actual broadcast, because the coverage is so lousy.  It didn't used to be that bad.  One thing I do remember is that not all of the races used to be on the tube, so at least all of them are shown, even if not in their entirety.

My last word on Jeremy is that I bet he finishes in the 13 to 19 position next year.  Toyota is putting a lot of money into research, and with the COT coming on, I think that teams can be more competitive faster than in years past.

I know what you mean smyler...
I been a fan since 1972.. been a race official since 1990... even been asked by some of the 'powers that be' to be a NASCAR Official...  I turned them down so far every time..

I get a lot of my Nascar info first hand,... I worked in the Nascar series as a pit crew menber for a couple years on the CTS.  Hard work.. but a ton of fun.
Nothing like learning the ropes first hand,.. and then you know the difference between what is rumor, BS, and all that.

I feel the CoT will be a great equalizer when if gets to running full time,... since it's gonna be a lot of shorts tracks and stuff next year,.. not sure it will have a lot if impact NEXT season.  The FOLLOWING season I think the it will have.
ME,.. I just can't get used to seeing a STOCK car with a WING on it,... getting more and more like Can Am racing and all the time in that regard.

I think Toyota will come out of the box and do OK,... IF they are smart enough to SHARE info...
If you remember DODGE did that THEIR first season out and as a whole they did pretty well.
NOW I think there are going to be some Toyota teams that just fall on their face.  Mikey Waltrip racing will be one of them.  Only one that MAY do decent could be Jarrett.  Waltrip will miss MORE races NEXT season then he did THIS year...

Bill Davis could do OK,.. but he has NEVER has any sort of "power house",.. and has ALWAYS been mid-pack in Nascar,.. so I don't expect anything much from him either.

Red Bull Racing will probably do as much (or more) than any Toyota team next season with Brian Vickers.

I guess time will tell...

Ooops, well, "Terminated" doesn't sound too friendly...sounds like there's more going on there than just Jeremy's ability to get a car into the top 35, or Ray's non-support...But Jeremy has been "terminated" according to NOL...

I'm afraid Jeremy pushed Evernhams limit.  I know they thought Bill's championship provisional would put them in the race, good thing Bill did manage to qualify.  I kind of think we will see Elliott in the 19 next week.  Great to see Kasey qualify 2nd, sure hope he finishes well enought to put him back in the top ten.

I agree... I really DON'T think we'll see Bill in the car at Bristol... He and that short track has just never got along (even though he won there the year he won the championship)
Elliott still has two races to run for Waltrip...  California, Sept. 3; and Homestead, Nov. 9
And he also still has three races to run for Red Bull... Charlotte and Atlanta in October and Texas in November

SO.. By process of elimination... That leaves these tracks that Bill COULD drive the #19 yet this season to try and get it back in the top 35 in points.
Richmond, NH, Dover, Kansas, Dega, Martinsville, Phoenix.

ohh I see,... yah
This all could get confusing if Bill goes back to racing full time... LOL

I'm not sure myself what is going to happen.

I could see Sadler going to Evernham... I could also see Elliott going there in 2007.
Bill has said he has several good offers on the table for 2007, and I got to believe one of them is from Ray.  They were a good fit just a couple years ago,.. and I can't see where that has changed.

It would also give Ray the "most recent Champions provisional" for the rest of the season.
Of course I think Sadler can qualify,.. but then again theres always a 'chance" something could happen "odd" (a spin, flat, etc) and the car would miss the show.

And just for the recond,.. I've never heard it 'confirmed' Sadler was going to the #19.  I heard speculation, (of course I heard speculation he was going somewhere else also)... and he may not go anywhere for a couple weeks... Who knows what RYR has in mind there.

I guess something will have to happen before NEXT week,... so we should know soon.

Two weeks in a row a screw-up on the end of the last lap for Kasey  Angry  Well at lease he didn't lose any point standing this week. DANG! Cry

Well to be a guy who qualified 2nd,.. and practiced well... then does poorly in the race and messes up at the very end is a bad deal.
Not to mention he went to VIR road course to practice this week so he could be sharp and ready to go.
I am sure the team had much higher goals then 24th.
He didn't finish much better then Bill Elliott,.. and Elliott hadn't drove in a road race in THREE years

Elliot sadler was 2nd fastest in practise...we'll see how that translates to qualifying. I think Elliot has what it takes. We'll see how happy Jeremy is in BDR equipment. It IS BDR I heard he was going to, isn't it???

Yeah,.. qualified 2nd also... hhuumm.  Think Jeremy would have done that.  I think not.
He had all but given up and it was time for him to move on.

I know there are those that will say that "Well Mayfield just won this race last year" (or was it year before)...
To which I'll point out as others have said,.. that was a "different car",.. and Sadler put it on the pole with the car Mayfield has been driving all season.

Mayfield will find out and he'll WISH he would have put more effort into staying with Ray,... Bill Davis racing is one of the "weaker" teams of the 'good teams'.  Just ask Dave Blaney.  Mayfield is banking on the fact that Toyota will make miracles happen.

Maybe they will,... but I'm not so sure BDR has the right (and best) people to make a team run up front.
