HUGE CONGRATS to Kurt Busch (and to KBF too!!) !! Cool Cool Smiley

WHAT a dominating performance today!~! WOW!! Shocked Smiley

Atlanta is usually to me anyways a  snoozefest but i actually enjoyed this one~!! I thought ol Kurts crew screwed up royally with that 4 tire change and thought for sure the 99 was gonna win. But that 2 was godawful fast today!! WOW Hats off to the whole team for a nearly perfect race. Cool Cool

On to Bristol in 2 weeks whoo hoo!! Then Mville! Does it get any better than that??Love those 2 tracks! Cool Wink

PS: GREAT comeback for Tony to comeback from that lap down early. I cant beleiev that guy went out there for that tire. Man! Cool

I actually thought that was a great call by the 2 team and knew the 99 was a sitting duck.  That 2 team was on it today and reminded me of Pocono a few years back.  Huge congrats to that team and with that momentum going expect him to be up front at his favorite track as well.

WOOOHOOO!!!!!!  That green-white-checker was sure a nail biter for me.  I was shaking and almost scared to watch.  This is like the first win since 07 cause the one race he won last year was a right place right time deal cause of rain.  It's still one in the win column for sure, but this one is so much sweeter than New Hampshire last year.  Congratulations to Kurt, Pat and the 2 team.  Without the pit crew's excellent work on pit road, we never would have been able to keep the track position.  That car was hot today.

By the time Kurt crossed the start finish line with the win, I was shaking so hard I couldn't even type.  Ask Rebel Chick and Cami how odd the messages I sent after the race were since I couldn't type straight if I wanted to.  And I LOVED that victory lap.  How cool was that?

And way to go Tony for his hard work today.  Wow...when he was 2 laps down, I thought for sure that was the best he'd be able to get out of this race.

Yes hat's off to Kurt and Pat Tryson. You guys dominated today like it was your own personal test track! What a statement after last years failings.

Yep it was like the Kurt of Old on his Championship Season Run. He was the Dominant Car on track. Pat Tryson is an Excellent Crew Chief...Job Well Done ! KBF is going to need a few days to come back down to earth lol !  Wink

P.S. So , like I go our to the Garage to finish up on some work , Mark is in running in the Top Ten. I come back in and ...what ? 10+ laps down ! Whats up with that ?? Have not seen or heard what got him that far back , after a Great Qualifying Run. He finished the Race , so at least it wasn't the Ole Engine / Transmission woes !  Huh?

hey Ty...

Mark cut a right rear tire on lap 214 and backed it into the wall.

If it weren't for bad luck...

Congrats to Kurt on a great race. Here's a statistic I read elsewhere: since the Driver Ratings system (sorta like the NFL's QB rating system) was started in 2005, there have been eight perfect scores by drivers. FOUR of those were by Kurt Busch, including yesterday's race.

I also read an article recently (that I unfortunately can't find now) that pretty much showed that Kurt Busch, by breaking down the obstacles that Southwest drivers had to get into the sport, even though he had to finish college, really cleared the way for Kyle to get into NASCAR so young and succeed early. It makes me wonder just how many more wins he'd have if he'd had the same opportunities so young that Kyle has had. I've really grown to like and respect Kurt of late.

MM cracks me up when they ask him what happened he says the driver ran out of talent  Grin I'll bet most of the other drivers wish they had half of Mark's talent

What was disappointing yesterday was Kyle's exit from the track when his brother won.  Kurt was right there in VL when Kyle won at Vegas but because they didn't have a clue yesterday he leaves the track without coming to VL.  I like Kyle but he has  LONG way to go to get where his brother ever was.  Even when Kurt was bad he was there to congratulate teammates, etc.

KBF is going to need a few days to come back down to earth lol !  Wink

You're darn right about that.  They replayed the last two laps of the race on our local talk radio station this morning, and I was grinning ear to ear again.  I have a great picture from his victory lap as my wallpaper now, and when I turned on the laptop, the ear to ear grin came back.

I said something to my husband about that last night.  I was really disappointed to see Kyle not go congratulate Kurt.  Last week even though Kurt had motor troubles in finish low at his home track, he was still right there full of smiles and hugs for Kurt and mom.  I think it would have been a great gesture to see Kyle head to VL, but I guess that shows a little area where Kyle may need to mature a little bit.  Was he perhaps jealous that big brother stole the show while he finished 3 laps down through little fault of his own?

I'M not a big fan of either of the Busch Brothers BUT in Kyle's defense I know from experience when you have the type of day Kyle had it's better to just get as far away from every one as possible so you don't say the wrong thing.Kyle is very high strung and expects to win every time out or at least be competitive which he wasn't yesterday

I can attest to Beth's state of mind yesterday.  LOL  But she was a smart girl and put the laptop to the side before she did something crazy and broke it  Grin

Nice to see the dominant car win in exciting fashion.  And nice run by Tony too!  All in all a good day - my driver with a top 10 and Beth being a happy girl!
