Hope this doesn't become a pattern...win one week, finish 43rd the next. UGH!!

hero to zero

I know that 'dega has never been one of Mark Martin's favorite tracks, and I'm sure Sunday's events have done nothing to change his opinion

well, nothing he could have done so I am not sure he cares.  He has always hated plate racing.  He will recover this weekend with a win at Richmond battling the 11 most of the race.

its not really uncommon to win one week and have a really bad finish the following week

2007
Jimmie Johnson, 1st @ M'ville - 38th @ Texas
Jeff Gordon, 1st @ Darlington - 41st @ LMS
Denny Hamlin, 1st @ Loudon - 43rd @ Daytona
Jamie McMurray, 1st @ Daytona - 38th @ Chicago
Carl Edwards, 1st @ Dover - 37th @ Kansas

2008
Carl Edwards, 1st @ Vegas - 43rd @ Atlanta
Kyle Busch, 1st @ Dover - 43rd @ Pocono

2009
Matt Kenseth, 1st @ Cali - 43rd @ Vegas
