Winning on your Birthday

found this on Jayski, and thought it was an interesting stat...
Interesting Stat - only one Birthday winner EVER: UPDATE: Cale Yarborough is the only Sprint Cup driver to ever win a points paying race on his birthday, which is March 27. In 1977 at North Wilksboro Speedway AND 1983 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. NOTE, since much email was first recieved with guess's, a few items were covered and checked: Richard Petty never won on his birthday [July 2nd] [in Cup] and neither did Jeff Gordon [August 4th]. In fact, the Brickyard 400 was only been held on Gordon's birthday once, in 2002, when Bill Elliott won. Gordon's first Brickyard 400 came on August 6, 1994. Why do I bring this up? #18-Kyle Busch will celerbate his 24th birthday on Saturday, May 2nd [the same as Uncle Bud] amd could be the 2nd driver ever to win on his birthday.(4-30-2009)
UPDATE
: Kyle Busch won Saturday night's Crown Royal Presents The Russ Friedman 400 at Richmond International Raceway on his 24th birthday to become the second driver to win on his birthday.(5-2-2009)
as far as I can tell, the only other drivers with a chance to win on their birthdays this year are:
Joey Logano, May 24th @ LMS
Juan Pablo Montoya, Sep 20th @ Loudon

I know sports are statistic based but this stat is one that is very irrelevant. I mean think of the drivers that are born in December and January, they can never accomplish this feat.

Still it is pretty cool to be one of two to have ever won on your birthday.

Even cooler to be one of two that's won three championships consecutively

But it isn't so cool to know that no matter how many races you win you will still be disliked by the fans.

I guess my wife and I don't qualify as fans since we both like Kyle.

That was the point I was trying to make. Some fans still can't stand the guy (myself included), but there are plenty of Kyle Busch fans out there.

Just fuels the young man to keep dominating the sport. It's bad enough he has the talent alone but then he gets the satisfaction of sticking it to people.

the punk flat out wrecked Colin Braun during the truck race on Friday night and Nascar sent him to the back of the longest line for rough driving
some penalty there, he still ended up 2nd
they should have parked his butt, or at least held him a lap or two...

SJG while you're right he flat out wreck Colin, he even admitted as much (right before throwing his pit crew under the bus). But I don't think it was intentional, it wasn't even rough, it was just plain DUMB! He totally lost all recognition of where he was and his surroundings, didn't pay any attention to his spotter (or acted like he didn't have one) and turned into Colin. I was surprised that NASCAR threw a penalty at all.
But then, then he has the audacity to say (after passing alomost every truck on the track twice even) that Chevy has an advantage. I could have sworn that the #5 Toyota Tundra led quite a few laps early before getting back in the pack on pit sequences.
