O-kay, first of all, the guy is massively misinformed, saying that Carl Edwards is already on probation after spinning Tony at Pocono (first time offender, yeah, right, NASCAR put him on probation!!! Roll Eyes He's not on probation....yet....Smiley)

BUT he DID come out with a gem:

"I hear that [Ray Evernham's wife...sorry, can't remember her name] has hired Brooke Gordon's divorce lawyer...."

Like I read on the We Wonder column on nascar.com....I'm curious how Erin Crocker is going to handle the media at the truck race....  It's just sad because in some people's mind it discredits her racing abilites because of all of this...  Some people think that she's got a ride because of the relationship with Evernham...

It's sad because it discredits her racing abilities?  Are you kidding?  She is middle of the road at best.  The ONLY reason she is being groomed is because she is female.  There are a ton of good ARCA or even regional NASCAR drivers that are better than she is.  Erin chose to do what she is doing.  Sure, Ray might look like a rock star to her.  He has had a lot of success and what young driver would not want to hook up with a guy like him.  By hook up, I mean with his team.  There are millions of stories about fools who got too close, personally, with their boss and lived to regret it.  Let's hope Erin isn't as naive as she seems to be. 

By the way, I in no way impune her abilities  on the basis of her being female.  I'd have said the same about Donica.  I truly do wish there were a good, nay great, female out there to root for.  What I don't like is all of this moving forward just because of race, color or sex.  Should be that the best move forward and the others stay pat.

I'm not saying that she's an all-star or anything.  I know she is pretty average when it comes to racing, but I'm just saying that it raises a lot of questions in people's minds about how she got, and why she has her ride.  Was it because of actual talent or because of her relationship with Ray...  That was all I was trying to say.

This is true...if she washes out, doesn't perform well, those rumors are going to just get worse...not a good choice for her career.
