As some of you know I've been down with what I thought was the Flu until I went to the Doctor anyway.

She gave me some good news and some bad news, The good news, I don't have the Flu, The BAD news, I have Pneumonia. She gave me a Cortizone and an Antibiotic shot because it works quick and told me to come back tomorrow at 2:30.

If I don't sound any better by 2:30 tomorrow I have reservations at a 4 star motel (I wish) known as the Hospital. Now if I sound just a little better we are going to continue me on Antibiotics and one of those breathing machines for breathing treatments.

I've never had Pneumonia so to be honest with ya, I'm Scared to death. I guess the reason I'm so freaked out is that I've heard of people dying from it.

I'm going to need some help from up above and from all my friends here on the Frontstretch so if you get a chance say a little prayer for me.

Thank's Everyone, Mark.

Mark without a doubt prayers for you and your family. Let's hope that you're here posting tomorrow that you have to rest (which includes lots of surfing time of favorite subjects and regular posting).

Feel better soon!! It's a bad bug going around, flu or not...I had a chest x-ray a month ago, because the cold I had was SO bad, I couldn't breath when walking...they had to rule out pneumonia (had a test done, it wasn't the flu). Only bonus...it sealed my desire to quit smoking....almost 2 weeks without a cigarette now. Cheesy

Prayers  are headed your direction Mark.  I hope you get to feeling better soon.  Mom had pneumonia several years ago, and she's still kicking, so try not to worry too much.  It will only slow the healing process.  We're looking forward to having you back once you start feeling better.

Hey ALL,

Well as you can tell I'm NOT in the Hospital but I'm not allowed to do anything which is ok since I get winded just saying a paragraph lol. The worst part about all of this is..........eating. I love to eat but the weazing is so bad that when I try to take a bite I start to cough............and well you can imagine, Small food fight has insued with myself. And I know where your coming from BB, Everytime I take a hit off of a cigarette it starts a 20 minute coughing spell so not much of that going on lol.

I just wanted to stop in and say Thank You to everyone for the Prayers because they DO work. I will try to get on as much as possible and say Hi. Thank's once again.

Mark.

I don't want to be hooked up to an oxygen tank someday!

That's really what sealed the deal for me....I've taken care of those people. Doesn't seem like much fun, spending your life sitting in a wheelchair (or worse) hooked up to oxygen, not being able to really enjoy life. I want to be one of those doddering old broads taking cruises and vacaying in Hawaii in my old age, not broke and unable to do anything physical.  Grin

I remember having bronchitis in college...quit smoking for 2 weeks because I just didn't want a cigarette. I've often thought the second-worst thing I ever did for myself, health-wise, (the first being starting smoking in the first place) was restarting after I got better...it would have been the perfect time to stay quit. But you know what they say about 20/20 hindsight.

Feel better soon! Smiley

Mark Glad you're home and still hoping for a speedy recovery.

I got lucky with quitting smoking. I was deployed to a remote Iraqi base where you could by local or swiss cig's that were chemically perserved. Mail was few and far between so I strated smoking the local Miami brand which was close to a marlboro. I got back to the states with 2 cartons (5 bucks a carton) and switched back to marlboro's when I ran out and couldn't smoke them because they tasted full  of chemicals compared to the natural tobacco in the miami's.
