Mark Glad you're home and still hoping for a speedy recovery.

I got lucky with quitting smoking. I was deployed to a remote Iraqi base where you could by local or swiss cig's that were chemically perserved. Mail was few and far between so I strated smoking the local Miami brand which was close to a marlboro. I got back to the states with 2 cartons (5 bucks a carton) and switched back to marlboro's when I ran out and couldn't smoke them because they tasted full  of chemicals compared to the natural tobacco in the miami's.
First off I would like to say thank you Doug for your service to our country and for keeping us all safe over here Smiley Good for you on quitting. I'm finally ready to quit, spent too many years and too much money, they are over 5.00 a pack here in Ohio, plus now with my granddaughter I want to see her grow up.

Cigarette 's yuck !  This coming from a Cigar an Pipe Smoker lol ! Good to hear that you kicked the Habit Doug . I remember back when Cup was Winston and MSI would give a free carton and race tape from the previous yrs race to
anyone who showed up with a used cigarette package . Never smoked them usually traded them to other smoking
and very appreciative American Fan's . Us northern (Canadian) Smokers just did not seem to appreciate Winstons Product lol .

P.S. I hope your feeling better Mark reading all these smoking stories  !

Yeah, while I am proud of her ....guess who she is going after next! Shocked Roll Eyes Cry  I spose it is for the better.....she'll need a doddering old man to help steady her when she is cruising and vactioning now won't she?!  Wink Cool

Yeah and smoking is like dieting... If the person you are around most of the time at home smokes, just makes it that much harder to quit.  They smell the familiar smells, see you having yours and it's just hard to fight off the urge.
Skool Buddy, you should quit smoking... it'll help you, and make it easier for her to stay quit.
Good luck to you both.

Mark...
Sorry I'm late to the party...
Special Prayers are also on their way from Georgia.  (I tend to pray for my FS family on a regular basis since they have done so for me when in need.)
I'm sure you'll be fine.
Just kick back, do what your doctor orders, and give yourself time to recover.  Start doing stuff too soon and you could relapse.

As far as dieing.. I wouldn't worry about it to much (I know.. it happens).  I'm sure BB will correct me if I am wrong, but in many cases the older population dies from pnumonia.  Mostly because of age and/or  poor immune systems, or not listeding to the Dr (or seeing them in time)
If I'm not mistaken many of the other "reported" pnumonia deaths are the repercussions of some other disease. For example, if someone had AIDS (just use that for one example, or cancer, etc) in Most cases the "disease" killed them, but as their health deteriorates> Pnumonia sets into their lungs, and their "official" cause of death becomes pnumionia.

As for you folks smoking, you should do some research on smoking, and see some pictures of what your lungd, etc look liker after smoking.  That'll help to motivate you to quit.  Or speak with somemone who has had cancer.
Our square dance caller has cancer now.  He had to have surgery (took out upper 1/2 of one lung, and 3 ribs)  now he is going threw Chemo, and after that radiation.
IMO I feel like I have enough problems in my life,.. without causing more by my own actions

Amen to that Dude ! Although I still have the occasional Pipe or Cigar , you are absolutely right Chris ! There are much to much in today's life style to cause serious Health issues without pushing the envelope with known Carcinogen's .

Well I'm back "Again" lol. I'm still not 100% but I have been feeling better for about a week now but I've had so much to do  getting on here was the easiest thing lol.

Thank's for ALL the prayers everyone because we all know that it really does work. The doctor put me on some different medications and thought we had it taken care of but boy were we wrong. It completely cleared up in one lung but I went about a week and a half without seeing her and that lung filled right back up, along with the other one. Believe it or not I still have a cough and a half but I can breathe now and thats whats important.

Well like I said, Thank You for the prayers and they meant alot.

Hey folks

Please pray that I find one of my cats that accidently got let out last night.

I know this may sound trivial to some, but you have no idea what this cat (Mocha) means to my oldest daughter. I absolutely abhor the idea of having to tell her that she is gone. I know someday I will eventually have to, but that is one of the worst jobs for a father.

Please Please pray that she is found!

Thank the Lord! I found the cat!!!!!!! Almost a block away in a neighbor's garage. I saw her eyes as I was going to check our old house (again!) at just after 11 pm tonight!

Thank you all who said a little prayer for her!!!!!   I guess you'd have to be a parent or a cat person to understand.  Thank you all again!

I know the feeling a few yrs back my Hunting companion Charlie (Chocolate Lab) got adventuresome . Took his leave right after supper and did not return until 3 Am . Since I have a creek which abuts my five acres , I new he would be  exploring. Never the less these animals do become members of the family ,and I hate to think of the day that he leaves for good , being that he turns eight this month. Great that you have your family friend back safe Ole Timer !  Wink
