Ifin Ya Can't Run with the Big Dog's Stay Home !!

Well the Silly Old Man did it again ,  on the Eve of his 1000 Start Silly Ole Mark secured the Pole and Tied Cale Yarbourgh for the Track Record in Poles. But can the Silly Old Man Secure his position within the Chase with 3 to Go !
I would really like to hear our Forum Members thoughts on if Mark will make the Chase ! Just you gut feelings ?

With the last three being Bristol Atlanta and Richmond look for the 5 team to be doing some major points racing. No more gambling after the Michigan fiasco. Mark will be in and after the reset one of the top seeded teams.

His only two real threats are Bowyer and Busch. Depending on how Busch finishes tonight will really play into the last two races.

Mark is going to get in.  These next 3 tracks are very good for them.  I agree the B boys are going to be his biggest contenders but I expect Mark to win a race here and be in the top 10 after 26 going to P1 when the chase starts.

I agree, I think the upcoming races are good for Mark. I think we'll be seeing him in the chase.

Well after last night I think it's going to come down between Busch Vickers and Khane. Kasey has been slowly slipping and don't see him performing at the front of the field in the next two races. Bowyer had his chances crumpled last night. If he had run top 5 he might have been able to scrape together Raichmond. RCR at the 1.5 milers this year...., none of them have a chance. Vickers got lucky and salvaged his hopes getting the last lucky dog. Not expecting big things out the #83 but they might pull a rabbitt out of the hat yet.

I think Mark really solidified himself and will be in barring something "big". But that's why they call it racing.

Was anyone else surprised, that Kyle Busch was surprised, that Mark ran him clean? What does that say about the mental make up of Busch that he expects to get wrecked?

Yeah I guess it shows the difference in attitudes , since Kyle would not think twice about using the horn to achieve the Win ! I think as loose as Mark's car was on the last lap , he did all he could with what he had , any more and the Keselowski effect would have applied lol !

Great race and I wanted Mark to win so bad but I still believe he wins Hotlanta or Richmond.  I believe Kenseth is the guy to slip out and Kyle gets in

I'm thinking that Rousch is going to put his best three cars on track at atlanta. I see Khane falling out with no help and limited resources at RPM.

We'll see how "nice" Mark Martin is at Richmond if it's "do or die". Whether Vickers gets in or not, he's no threat to win the Chase. Same can be said about plenty of others that make the Top 12 and get in. I hope Kyle doesn't make it in. Sure you're all surprised I'd say such a thing.

Kyle is the only one outside the top 12 that I see as a threat to get in, if he gets on a hot streak.  But it would be funny if it came down to Richmond, and someone with a grudge against him decided it would be the perfect time to settle the score.  Wink

RCR has said it will throw its best resources behind Bowyer, but I think they will still probably come up a little short.  I just can't take Vickers seriously, even though he's close enough in points.

Wouldn't that be something to fire up the Press Box's lol ! Sure would add some fierce Pay back to the Chase ! I can just imagine the Nascar Trailer running overtime !  Wink

Kryle will cause an uproar if he gets knocked out of chase contention in an accidental accident, let alone a payback.  Richmond is a good place for either.

Imagine if it were caused by contact with Vickers.  Or Junior.

I'm like you.. I think Martin will get in...

I'm not sure about Busch,.. he's been down a lot lately, but the win this past weekend might have changed the big MO.
Vickers has been on a roll lately, and of the guys "out" I'd wager he will get in above anyone else.
Here's the thing...

Points are SOOOOOOOOO close.
Less than 125 points from 7th to 14th.  Bowyer is out after this past weekend..
All the teams close to the cut line will be points racing this weekend, so unless someone has mechanical problems, or gets in an accident, we could see "not much of anything" go on this week...??
If I had to pick a few guys to fall out so both Busch and Vickers gets in I'd say it'd be Kenseth, Kahne or Newman.

Be interesting to watch it unfold...
