from jayski...

Reutimann's time disallowed: UPDATE: #00-David Reutimann, who was second fastest in qualifying, had his time disallowed after the rear shock was determined to have a gas level too high. He will now start the race in 42nd. No other penalties are expected.(10-9-2009)
UPDATE: Michael Waltrip twittered Friday night that there were 25psi more than the maximum allowed in the shock. Michael Waltrip Racing checked their gauge against NASCAR's and found that MWRs was off.(10-10-2009)

tsk tsk tsk

too bad for Reuti.  It would be nice to have a non-chaser up front.

Did you see Montoya's qualifying run? Wow!  Smacks the wall in 3, but keeps it in the gas and still gets 5th.  Never lifted.  THAT is hanging it all out.  Just sheet metal repairs needed (and the rear bumper bar)

Actually both Rear Shocks were indicated to have excessive pressure . If they had only found one over the Legal Limit they may have made it through inspection. Normally inert gas such as nitrogen which is less sensitive to thermal temperature swings is utilized within high quality shocks . So apparently MWR was clearly trying to gain an advantage . Bad on you Mikey , Jack Roush is going to make Hay with this most recent attempt of cheating by one of the Teams Cars from the Land of the Rising Sun... Rofombo !  Wink

So, nobody believes that Mikey's gauges were off calibration?

But it didn't so lets not make this anymore other than about the 00.  I had enough talk about the non-illegal 5 and 48 Wink

Yet another reason the top 35 rule is stupid-two LEGAL cars went home this week.

If you DQ a time, it should also cancel out top 35 rule.  If the 36th place car fails postqual inspection, he goes home-the guy 5 points ahead of him that week races.  Yeah, that's fair.

Didn't you know?  Those weren't Mikey's gauges...they might have come from somebody else's garage *whistles* Roll Eyes  Not Mikey's fault at all  Grin

That's what I said last year when JPM had the same problem.
