Championship week in Las Vegas

Nascar has finally released it's schedule of events, and in a surprise late Tuesday announcement Speed will host the Banquet Live. Replacing ESPN as the NSCS Banquet production.

Listening to Sirius last week Dave Moody had on Brendan Gaughan during a normal call in spot. Brendan said something interesting. This years event has come together late and give Vegas until next year to really put on a show.

I was really questioning this as the announcement for Vegas has been out for almost a year. But seeing as NASCAR is just releasing it's events I'm sure it held up alot other scheduling / booking of events.

Also there is no one centralized site for all the going on's around championship week. I know the Stewie Awards will be at the Rio, but don't know when. Is there going to be an collectors covention like they have in Charolette during the all star speed weeks. Will the souvenier hualers accompany the drivers at LVMS? Where and when is the NMP luncheon going to take place?

I'll be interested in seeing how this year goes. If it come together I'll definately put away money for 2010. Definately already planning and saving for the September stand alone truck race at LVMS.

The Stewie Awards are Dec 3rd. 10-12 a.m. EST

I have a friend who lives in Las Vegas. Her husband is actually in charge of the lighting in most of the hotels down there so I'll probably try to get down there next year.
