Well they almost rolled out that way in qualifying. Hornaday got the pole followed by Busch Crafton and Harvick.

Am I the only one that was bored for quite a bit of that race?  I know it happens, but I'm still not thrilled about a margin of victory that's over one second.  But I do have to give a shout out to Steve Wallace for a fourth place finish...why the heck didn't Speed bother to interview him???

That's typical for the 1.5 mile tracks and the trucks. Also to have Ron and Matt out of contention before half way takes away some of the drama.

Steven Wallace: Still drove over his head even in a truck that has 25% more down force than a NNS car. He's a part time story so no press.

Biggest missed interview, Tayler Malsam. Glad they got Ricky for his best ever finish. I perfer the media to stick to series regulars than the part timers myself.

I can understand that...but since it was his truck series debut and he finished in the Top 5, I expected Speed to go ahead and talk to him (even if only briefly).  They could have talked to Austin Dillon as well but didn't.  But I noticed quite a few things wrong with the broadcast.  Since last season, every time they post the Stacy Compton graphic, it has Compton's name but Matt Crafton's picture.  Wonder how they're going to let that slide before they fix it.  And am I the only one that misses having the graphic for the race off pit road?

Trucks impounded and taken to NASCAR's R&D center for measurement. 1 truck from ech manufacturer was impounded after Atlanta. Race winner #2 KHI Chevy, #5 Toyota driven by Mike Skinner, #10 Ford driven by Jennifer Jo Cobb, and the Dodge of Jason White from SS green light racing.

mmm interesting.....

It'll be interesting to see what comes of this.  Wonder if it's a random pick or if there were issues with post race inspection.  You'd think with a post race inspection issue NASCAR would have just come out and said so.

Beth great point in your article this morning. Aric Amirola is definately going to have the chance at checkers this year. He really stepped that 15 truck up at the end of last year and so far has run up front regually this season.

I'm just waiting for that day for him.  Honestly what I like so much about the truck series is that I didn't start really paying attention until I started covering it for Frontstretch.  Because of that I didn't have a favorite driver coming in, and even now (though there are some I like more than others) I still don't have a favorite.  So any time someone is a first time winner, I get just as excited as when Kurt is in victory lane on Sunday.  And honestly I like it better that way.  Dangit why does NASCAR have to give us such crappy spacing between races early in the season?  I don't know if I can wait another two weeks.

I told y'all!

When Mark Martin thought he was gonna retire I was left without a favorite driver and it was a whole new experience. I found exactly what you described Beth. No favorites so may the best driver win. Waayyy cool, ain't it?

Now that Mark is UN-retired, I cheer for him to win, but I still appreciate the other drivers more than I did before. Sure makes NASCAR more enjoyable for me.

HH you were right.  The truck series is enjoyable to me regardless of who wins (well besides one driver LOL).  Martinsville definitely can't get here fast enough.

Hooray for Johnny!  Now hopefully he can stay out of trouble and pull in a decent finish.

OK...so I finally have something to post in this truck thread!  Wink

One of the members of a Nascar fantasy racing group that I'm in (THS) will be making his CWTS Debut on Friday at Nashville! It's G.R. Smith...and he'll be driving the #50 Dodge for Make Motorsports with a color scheme to support Ronald McDonald House Charities of Nashville. Eight children from the RMHC will be guests at the track all day and Grand Marshals of the race giving the "Start  Engines" command!! How awesome is that!!!!

Everyone in the group was ecstatic when we found out....then we were informed that it was going to be a  "start and park" opportunity for GR due to a lack of tires......so, the group got together and got him another set of tires so he can go all the way! Half of the sponsorship that the fine folks of our fantasy league provided will go to Ronald McDonald House Charities, so everyone wins!!!!

I have not watched many truck races...but will be tuned into this one!!! Wink

GO GR!!!  Smiley Smiley Smiley
