Denny,a man of his word. #6  [url]  [-]

Denny advertised that he would give Keslowski a "payback".
He did exactly that, to the delight of most crew members
clapping on a pit road pass through via a NASCAR black flag
penality

There was no difference between the incidences other than the
one that NASCAR frowns on "big time", retaliation.
Denny announced it in advance. His error there. If he had said
nothing and awaited until it really counted down the road apiece,
we likely would have not seen the penality.
This brings to the question. Should NASCAR penalize one and give
another a free pass for the exact behavior?
Only NASCAR could respond to that question, but they would just
be lying.
Yes, they have stated they want to give more leeway to individual
issues during the heat of the battle, but they lower the boom when
it actually happened.
Of course, NASCAR has the tried but true"saftey"
issue to always fall back on,but frankly I am tiring of it.
It is a dangerous sport and no one wants to injuries, but where do
you draw the the line? This "grey area" gives NASCAR the power
to penalize one but not another fo the same thing. I will never
forget the incident where a star took a driver out and then said,
"did not mean to do it, just wanted to "rattle" his cage". No penality
involved.
Therefore i am convienced NASCAR sits on the edge of saftey
versus entertainment. We see it eveywhere and applaud it. I geuss in
some areas there are no exact best answers. But I do say, when Denny got
penalized for announced retaliation, NASCAR took away one of the most
entertaining aspects of racing, Drivers getting even, thus rivalies.
As a spectator, I loved the confrontation. Simply disliked NASCAR
quashing the idea of announcing it, which what it was. ah, feel better..lol

Welcome aboard KK ! Yeah not the smartest thing to Brag about what your intentions will be , but then Denny never has been the brightest bulb on the Tree ! He's fortunate that Nascar did not Park him .

I think even nascar knew Bucky had it coming  Cool when 95% of the pit crews Applauded Denny on his drive thru you know Keslowski isn't very well liked NOT that Denny is either

Was wonderin the same thing. Something that dramatic would surely have been caputered by at leat one camera?

Well the only thing NASCAr proved it's always going to be in consistent with penalties.

The radio guys (MRN) asked John Darby what gives with the different penalties? His answer was NASCAR never judges intent, only actions.

And for those of you that are going to ask about JPM on sunday 2 instead of 1. JPM's team had ben warned and he still made contact with the #42.

Funny thing though. Instead of listening to ABC and 3.5 hours of Jimmie Love I listend to MRN and scanners. Caught a call from Chad Knaus to Jimmy's spotter Earl. "The 42 is back on track, keep an eye on him because Tony is in front of us". I guess alot of people knew what the "intent" was.
