D.J. Richardson lost his battle with the H1N1 virus yesterday. Prayers for his surviving family.

D.J. was the front tire changer on the #29 Penzoil Chevy driven by Kevin Harvick. After the season he made a trip to New England to visit family and contracted the H1N1 virus. D.J. had multiple complications with his breathing and was transferred to Boston General Hospital.  Shortly after thanksgiving D.J. deteriorated and had to be placed in a medical coma and on a respirator to maintain oxegyn levels.

As of last Friday it looked as D.J. was improving. And might be re-awaken out of the medical coma.

D.J. passed at 10:10 Dec 25th 2009.

You will be missed.

I heard a report early on when it was reported that DJ had asthma, but i couldn't confirm it. But it seems plausiable due to how it really attacked his lung function.
