Hi everyone when do you think jeff burton will win another race i thought he was going to win last week but something happened and he didn't. Didn't he change 4 tires and got back in traffic and never made his way through the traffic?

That team is on the right track...Jeff is becoming a contender again every week...I think it's not a matter of if, but when. Cheesy

***ducking when I say this*** Wink

But, until Jeff can start finishing in the Top 5, I don't think he's ready to win a Cup race.  If you look at the stats, he only has 4 Top 5's all year.  He's tied with rookie Denny Hamlin for the fewest top 4's of the still Chase eligible 13 drivers.  He needs to begin to consistently finish in the Top 5 in order to have a chance at a win.

Jeff Burton has had an amazingly consistent season - something like 16 straight Top 15 finishes.  That is really an accomplishment, especially in light of both the years he's had in the recent past, and the years RCR has had in the recent past.

But, I did wonder about this because NOL had 2 articles on there after Bristol - one about Harvick's day - finishing 11th with a wrecked car, and one about Burton's day, finishing 9th with the race's dominant car.  The difference in the attitude between the two was a little surprising to me, because Jeff has always been given credit for being upbeat and levelheaded.   It seems like all these times that Jeff has run strong, but then faded at the end are starting to wear on both him and the team.  And, I can understand it - his teammate has 2 wins and 10 Top 5 finishes this year.  That's got to eat at him.

I don't know why they can't get the job done, but it seems like there must be a reason for it.  If Jeff can luck into a win at Talladega, it might open the floodgates for them, and they can reel off a couple in a row.  But, on the other hand, I can see them beginning to struggle if he doesn't get that win soon.

It seems to me they are improving...you can't do much about luck, but Jeff and Kevin have both started running up closer to the front than they have in a while, so something is changing...and I maintain, it's just a matter of time before Jeff is back in Victory Lane...he knows the way there, and they're getting better on the set-ups...Cheesy

well as good as he has run... theory seems to be a win is just around the corner.
I kinda think a win may happen before the end of the season..

TOLD JA SO!!! Wink Cheesy

CONGRATS JEFF and it's about time!!!

And let me tell you, it was AWESOME watching it live, even as I wished there were a few more laps to go, so Carl could get up there to fight him...unfortunately, by the time the race was over (and we saw Jeff and Matt Kenseth stop on the track for congratulations from Matt! Cheesy) the storm was looming, and as there was a bit of thunder and lightning also with those dark clouds, I chose the better part of valor and headed for the car PDQ...STILL got soaked from the knees down under my rain poncho before I got there, but there were many more worse off. The rain cooled things off pretty quick!!

Pictures to follow!! Cheesy

First off Congrats to Jeff and the 31 team! Been saying for some time now that i had faith Jeff would get a win before the season was over!As much as i root for Mark, i'm also a fan of Jeff's ! Was great to see the last few laps wind down and Jeff and Matt fighting for the lead! What a great show they put on!!!Seems maybe RCR finally figured out how to make that car run great at the end of the race rather then the first half. Was never so happy to see someone win after the lousy streak Jeff has had to endure!
I wouldn't be surprised if Jeff pulled off another win before season's end the way that team as really came alive as of late!

It's about time he finally won one. I hope he wins 2 or 3 more before seasons end.

I was at the race and it was great to watch.  By the end everyone was on their feet and it didn't seem to matter who each persons driver was...  everyone was cheering and clapping to see Burton win.  It was such a great race with such an exciting ending that was raced clean.  Well deserved for Jeff Burton and his team   Grin
