2010 Predictions

I know it's still only early January, but my football season is over (I'll still watch playoffs etc but not like I did the regular season) and my mind is on Daytona.  It's never too early to start thinking about what we want to predict for the 2010 season.

Well I'am with you as far as Football , from Champs tp Chumps ! Well there is always next yr. for Ben and the Steeler's ! Bring on ther Playoffs .

As far as Nascar nothing short of a Championship for "The Silly Old Man " is reasonable ! Move over JJ Ole Marky is Well Overdue lol !!!

 Alright, I'm going out on a limb here.

 Brian France gives up the reins of NASCAR. Whether this happens during the 2010 season or afterwards, that's my prediction.

 Driver-wise, gonna be more of the "same ole, same ole". I don't see any major changes from the usual suspects.

 Finally. You thought 2009 was bad? Unfortunately, 2010 will be even worse.

 I know. So negative. But, I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express a few years ago...

If the wing does go away in favor of the spoiler, it will be about the only thing exciting happening in Cup this upcoming season.

I think it will be the usual suspects with better performances by Newman and Stewart; distraction mid season on with Johnson; if Kyle doesn't make the Chase this year.... to use his quote: 'its never about Kyle, its always about the crew chief'; Jr had better perform this season cuz if he doesn't someone is going to start writing a book about how he is washed up and maybe was just a fluke. I don't want that to happen.

Ok, I will go out on the limb...... Championship goes to Mark Martin...... and he retires for real this time.

Mark signed with GoDaddy through 2011 so he has 2 more before he can move to retirement finally

I'll stick to football for now. This is the first year I didn't go through total nascar depression after the season ended. I'm just not ready to have my driver depress me again every weekend all season long again.

I find it hard to believe what a sacrifice Danica is making to bring her talents to NASCAR. It's a risky endeavor for her to put her betwixt races gig on hold while she brings cheap thrills to the NASCAR fans. As I understand it, mud wrestling fans have short
attention spans and could easily forget who Danica is between bouts, and most of 'em have never even heard of NASCAR to catch her act there.

I refuse to subscribe to the theory that The Brian dreamed up this Do Danica Deal in an attempt to direct attention away from his own Detrimental To Stock Car Racing antics.
Instead, I choose to believe that The Brian is just as horny as the rest of us single NASCAR types who drool at the mere sight of arm candy and would pay premium prices to see Danica put Kyle Bush in a headlock until he submits. Is there a Most Popular Driver award in Danica's future? Will she manage to be crowned the first QUEEN of NASCAR?

I predict this Do Danica Deal will attract the attention of the media writers and talking heads, who, if they put the right spin on their doctored stories, could convince the huddled masses that NASCAR's diversity program is a resounding success.

My biggest concern is, ........ in a few years, will Danica still be able to drive a race car while
barefoot and pregnant? Or will she delegate that responsibility to her hubby,
Mr. Danica aka Patrick?

With all the side distractions it should be easier to ignore and/or entirely miss the absurdities that NASCAR has been famous for since The Brian inherited the keys to NASCAR.  Not that that would improve the racing out on the track, per se --- but with the cameras only panning Danica, lap after lap, .......... the hassle of trying to follow where the other 42 drivers are runnin' would be eliminated. All that's just information overload anyway.
I see a win-win situation all the way around.

It's funny, we all pretty much seem to feel about the same about the Danica deal, the Brian's antics and the lack of competitiveness on the track and yet we keep calling ourselves fans.  I've said it before but I wish Bruton Smith would start a competitive league to NASCAR.  Many of the same tracks could be used.  He'd keep it fun and it would be about the fans.  Yeah, he'd make a ton of money at it, even in these down economic times.  My prediction is that it ain't gonna happen but it sure would be fun if it did.
