It's funny, we all pretty much seem to feel about the same about the Danica deal, the Brian's antics and the lack of competitiveness on the track and yet we keep calling ourselves fans. I've said it before but I wish Bruton Smith would start a competitive league to NASCAR. Many of the same tracks could be used. He'd keep it fun and it would be about the fans. Yeah, he'd make a ton of money at it, even in these down economic times. My prediction is that it ain't gonna happen but it sure would be fun if it did.
Hey it worked for the ABA VS NBA And the AFL VS NFL that would be interessting to see Tony Stewart in one circut with Jimmie Johnson in the other

From Wiki:
Smith built Charlotte Motor Speedway (now Lowe's Motor Speedway) in 1959 for $1.5 million, [4] with financing from his wealthy brother-in-law.[3] Well-known racer Curtis Turner helped with promoting the track.[3] Smith went bankrupt two years later. [1] The track was turned over by Judge J.B. Craven to local furniture store owner Richard Howard, who ran the track and worked it out of its debts (the mortgage was burned publicly in 1967) while Smith moved to Illinois, eventually buying out other shares of stock in the track to regain control in the early 1970s.[5]
He later founded Speedway Motorsports, Inc. (SMI), which owns eight NASCAR tracks that host eleven NASCAR Sprint Cup events. [1] Speedway Motorsports owns Lowe's Motor Speedway in Charlotte, Atlanta Motor Speedway, Bristol Motor Speedway, Infineon Raceway, Kentucky Speedway,.[6] Las Vegas Motor Speedway, New Hampshire Motor Speedway,[7] and Texas Motor Speedway. [8] He shook up the motorsports world in 1995 when he took the company public and traded it at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). [8] SMI was the first motorsports company traded at the NYSE. [9] Smith is the current chairman and chief executive officer of Speedway Motorsports.
From me: You gonna tell me he isn't more of a race fan that the Brian ever thought of being? Man, he'd do it up right! I don't think fans care if you call it NA$CAR or whatever. We just want good racing. Side by side, bumper to bumper, bring whatever car you want as long as it's safe racing. And, here's a thought, how about if they actually look something like the car they are named after. No more complaining, let's start a letter campaign to Bruton. What do you think?

Some will turn right to go left.
Some will not turn.
The number Four figures strong this season
The old King fights valiantly but to no avail.
He is vanquished in a close battle.
There will be much gnashing of teeth during and after many battles.
The world turns upside down for 4 drivers.
The gods will rain upon the unwashed masses. The number is 4.
The color Red is prominent.Blue and Green also contend.
The ground will shake in the West.
The jester is banished, life is rumored but the number is 4.
The one who is loved, and with 2 first names will lose face after a battle.
There is a great cry after rules are broken.
There is fire in the South near the end.
The one who wins the coveted cup will drive the car with numbers totaling no more than 16 (4 times 4, 4 is prominent remember) if/when combined.
Many will cheer, many will gnash their teeth at the new King's coronation
