I was never a big fan of road courses. Up until a few years ago, road course races were my least favorite to watch on Sunday's.
What a difference a few years makes.
Today, I look forward to road course races. It's exciting to me. Plain and simple. I'm not getting that excitement from the ovals anymore. Sure, there've been some moments, typically during the waning laps on any given Sunday afternoon or Saturday night. Frequently, oval races are manipulated by NASCAR to fabricate excitement. Excitement, at one time, that needed no manipulation to affect an outcome. Oval racing has become boring and predictable.
I like watching drivers fight for every position on a road course. Even if a few cars are able to pull away from the field, there's still some great racing going on behind them. I apppreciate how hard the drivers race each other back in the pack.
Qualifying was exciting to watch yesterday evening. Qualifying. Have I lost my mind?

Love Road Course's Blue ! The only disappointing portion of the Racing to me is the Pit Stop Strategy Issue . The Yellow Flag Pit Stop is out the Window .
P.S. I was surprised that the Jeff Gordon Fuel Issue did not get more attention on the Forum thought for sure the Jeffy Haters would have Jumped all over this Item lol .

I bet they were using jet fuel. Bunch of cheaters over there at HMS. How else do you explain 4 consecutive championships. I don't know why Mark Martin would want to get involved with that organization...
Can't explain Jr though...because if they're cheating, they're not doing a very good job at it...
How's that Ty?

I know Tony said he saw some of the worse driving he ever saw at Pocono but Sonoma had to be worse than that. My god were guys driving like idiots.

I enjoy the road courses for a change of pace. Two or maybe three times a years is just right for me. Some of the guys who don't run up front very often on the ovals have a chance to shine, and other drivers just look like fish out of water... it is entertaining.

I think the road courses are much better than the 1 1/2 mile cookie cutter tracks. At least there is some competitive racing going on.
I was really pulling for Ambrose and hate he made that mistake. I heard a couple of comments on Wind Tunnel about it being a conspiracy to help Johnson. As much as I am not a JJ fan, this was plain an simple not keeping the speed on a pace lap. I am sure the team learned from it. You have to lose a race before you win one and he certainly lost that one.
And what about the 24? The wife must have really pissed him off before the race because he took it out on everybody. He was a dangerous man. Not sure I will pick him for my fantasy team next week after hearing Truex comments.
