For the purposes of the poll, these are the 7 drivers I'm counting as "ringers" (Robby Gordon will be counted as a "regular").  I've also included the car numbers, total career Cup starts, and best finish at the Glen to date).

07 PJ Jones, 30 starts, best of 4th at the Glen.

13 Max Papis, 33 starts, best of 8th at the Glen.

26 Patrick Carpentier, 33 starts, best of 20th at the Glen.

35 Tony Ave, 2 starts, best of 31st at Glen.

36 Ron Fellows, 21 starts, best of 2nd at the Glen.

71 Andy Lally, 2 starts, best of 27th at the Glen.

83 Boris Said, 40 starts, best of 3rd at the Glen.

Only Said (driving for Red Bull) and Lally (for TRG) will have the top-35 qualifying mulligans in place.

I picked only 1...I'm thinking of those listed only Boris has a decent shot based on equipment...maybe Jones in the 07 (isn't that a 2nd Robby Gordon Motorsports car?)

thinking regulars Robby and Marcus Ambrose will probably have good days

I also guessed one, figuring that Said in the #83 would have the best shot.

Ron Fellows in the #36 would be my sleeper pick if the #83 has a bad day.  They've had some respectable runs on days when they didn't start and park.

Yes, PJ in the #07 is Robbie Gordon's second entry... they've done that a few times.

I just read an intereresting fact on "ringers". The last win was in 1973 (almost 40 years ago). Of course stats can be twisted however you want. The truth is most ringers are driving sub par equipment for teams that need a good finish for the points. But they do make it fun to watch.

I for one want to see Mrs. Jeff Gordon go into labor and JG hand over the #24 to Scott Pruett. That would be the most awesome Road Racing Ringer!!!

After Jeff's performance at Sonoma, where he ran over 5 or 6 drivers, I'm hoping that one of them get their revenge at WG...

You listening Martin Truex??

Amen SJG!!

Im gonna say 2 with a BIG maybe of 3.
Said   (usually does well,in decent equipt, and usually in the front 5-7 for at least part of the race . With no pit road or driver screwups he should do well
Jones and possibly Fellows or Carpentier could have decent days IF the cards fall  just right and more importantly theyve come with cars that are really meant to go the distance.

I agree with one being Said and I think he has a legit shot Sunday though I believe Ambrose is sweeping the weekend.

Looks like Doug callled this one, zero ringers in the top 10.  Best finish by a road racing specialist (if you don't count JPM and Marcos  Cheesy) was Andy Lally at 18th in the #71.
