I see on Jayski where Papis is out of the #13 as of immediately
Story says they'll start and park the next two races, and Casey Mears will drive the car the rest of this year and all of 2011
Papis will run in the CWTS

Quote
Sirius NASCAR Radio's Sirius Speedway with Dave Moody has confirmed that Casey Mears will replace Max Papis in the #13 Germain Racing GEICO Sprint Cup Series Toyota, beginning at Atlanta Motor Speedway on September 5. Speaking on the condition of anonymity, a source close to the team said the deal will be completed and contracts signed within the next 48 hours. The car will "start and park" at both Michigan and Bristol with drivers TBA, before Mears takes over at Atlanta. He will also drive the car in the full 2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series schedule. Papis, meanwhile, will run the full NASCAR Camping World Truck Series slate next season in a GEICO-sponsored Toyota, also out of the Germain Racing stable

This is a hard one!  I feel bad for Max but I'm glad Casey is getting a ride, even a crappy one.

I think this will be good for Max. The trucks have alot of down force compared to the COT. If he ends up with a supportive team that will coach him along, this is the perfect learning ground where good communication is key, due to the 1 or 2 stops in a shortened truck race. It will force him to give more feedback. I like this deal all the way around.

I agree with Doug, if the part about the truck deal is correct, it may not be such a bad deal for Mad Max in the long run.

In the truck series he will get more seat time, and his team will be good enough that he can put more thought into race setups instead of concentrating on qualifying.

Aric Almirola made a similar move voluntarily this year, giving up the start and parks with Finch's #09 Cup team to run the truck series full time.  He did well there, and it hasn't hurt his prospects of eventually getting a full-time, sponsored Cup ride.

I agree that this could be a good move. He will learn more and get more attention in a good truck ride than a sub par cup ride. If you cant stay in the top 20 in points you are quickly forgotten. Good luck Max.
