David Stremme leaving the #26, right on the heals of Boris Said officially breaking ties with them... apparently, that team is this year's Ginn racing... form a line to try to collect the money you're owed.  Cry

Robby Gordon is moving himself to the #07 as a late entry for the Michigan race with a driver TBA for the #7.  Maybe PJ Jones again?

And already discussed, Max Papis is out at the #13, leaving that seat open this week (for a probable start & park).

Can't remember the last time it was a Wednesday, and three entries had no drivers officially announced for that weekend's race.  Huh?

Also, Paul Menard to RCR is official, though it doesn't kick in till the 2012 season (but just thinkin' out loud, RCR might run someone else in a 4th car late in the season just to help establish that team).  And we had the Kahne to Red Bull announcement... busy week.

All settled for now...

It is PJ Jones in the 7, Max Papis stays in the 13 for a couple more races before turning it over to Casey Mears, and Patrick Carpentier is in the 26 again after doing the road course at the Glen for them last week.

You can add to that list Tony Raines in the #34 for Kevin Conway.  No word on if that's a one-time thing to try to build some cushion on their top-35 "bubble" position, or something larger.  I saw Conway's Extenze commercial on TV just last night, they have some money invested in him as spokesperson so who knows?  The teams official statements have been sending mixed messages.  Huh?

Sounds like Blaney isn't just taking this week off...

from Jayski
Riggs driving for PRISM Motorsports at Michigan: Scott Riggs will make his PRISM Motorsports debut driving the #66 Toyota in the August 15 Carfax 400 at Michigan. "Scott clearly has an impressive racing resume and we are excited to bring a driver with his experience to PRISM Motorsports," said Phil Parsons, who serves as a co-owner of the team, along with Randy Humphrey. "Dave Blaney has been instrumental in getting our team started and to this point in the 2010 race season, so we are thankful to him and wish him the best in his future endeavors."(PRISM PR)(8-13-2010)

yeah. I saw on jayski (and heard them announce) that Extenze was taking a "Hiatus" from sponsoring the car..
I wonder if this is more a process of the sponsor telling the owner "when our guy (Conway) isn't in the car... you don't get any sponsorship money"

This reminds me of the situation with John Wes & Zaxby's.  He's still our guy, he's just not racing.

Could be Extenze will shop for a new team that will take them and Conway as a package deal. I would think they'd have some takers on that in this economy.

Nice to see John Wes is a car again.. He's such a nice respectful young man..
Man can he play a piano too..  He can lay down some serious boogie-woogie too
Never had a lesson either;  just sat down and started playing..  Wish I has SOME kind of talent.

You could still be Sprint Cup rookie of the year if you hurry.  Grin
