I see on Jayski where Prism Motorsports will shut down after Homestead..
SO thats two MORE teams NASCAR will have to come up with somewhere to filed the field of 43 cars...
I'm still not convinced that RPM will field 4 cars like it has all of 2010.. so we could have two additional fewer cars there also.

I'm seeing lots of opportunities for even MORE Start-N-Park teams in 2011.
hhummm anyone want to go in 1/2's on buying a used CUP car.  I am sure we could start-n-park with the best of them.
I kind of see some of the NNS teams, or CWTS teams putting together a team to run on the same weekends.
It's really not a bad idea - to help subsidise the small payouts from the lesser series..??

Actually, Prism is down to one team.  But, by my count, there are at least three (Prism, 2 RPM cars for sure) and most likely six (2 more RPM cars and Robby Gordon in addition) teams that won't be back in 2011.

If they are replaced, it will most likely be by start and pakr teams because without sponsorship, that's all they can afford to do.  I don't see six new teams popping up over the winter, unless a couple of NNS operations decide to use the opportunity to move up.

yeah.... I forgot about R Gordon..
Prism I was counting as two teams because they have ran two teams all season (66 & 55).. I do see they just have one car entered this weekend...
I think two of the RPM cars will race in 2011 (well at least at the start).. They'll be in the top 35 in points and guaranteed a start in the first 5 events.  time will tell if they can run all season

But I agree... hard to see where 6 more "new" teams will come from other than start-n-parks... and most "NNS teams that take the opportunity to move up IMO won't have a driver thats "good enough" that they should be running at the CUP level yet... so it could ruin their chances to be 'great' later on.
Gonna be interesting to watch and see.

I was looking at the RoushYates parts website yesterday where they sell used equipment just yesterday.  Grin

There will certainly be opportunities next year to make a race with a shoestring budget, especially on the weekends where the Cup and NNS series are racing at different tracks.

If my count is right, exactly 43 teams will have attempted the full Cup schedule in 2010.  So, don't expect any big crackdown on S&P's in the offseason, even though fans gripe about it.
