For the kind words, you're welcome I'm sure. As for "hard" lessons learned the "hard way" ------ well, I'm thinking that's why they're called "hard lessons".
Ya reckon?
I don't recall a "hard lesson" that was easy to learn. Do you?
Well honestly yes some lessons are easier to learn then others but I'm not going to get into that cause honestly its pointless. Some people it takes longer and harder lessons to learn something then others
I think you're absolutely correct Plove24. And as long as one is trying to learn -- with an open mind -- most folks are glad to assist that learning process. NOT to MAKE another poster feel small or hurt their feelings in the process.
***********************
Run that by me one more time Plove. If we say things we "don't mean" ---- how can that be considered "to hurt another persons feelings"?
Thats simple sometimes people say things
in the heat of the moment
and say things that they
wouldnt normaly say
just cause of
anger
.
other times
we can say things
in away
that
isnt intended to hurt someones feelings
but we can use a
bad choice
of words and it
come across wrong
.
No doubt about that Plove. If someone exhibits those traits ALL the time, by golly --- you've got a good reason to complain. I would too. I doubt you'll find that to happen here. You made reference to HappyHour in one of your posts. There was a good example of what we absolutely
W O N' T
allow here at FrontStretch. If you're drawing a comparison with HappyHour and the civil posters -- I'm After-- SHOCKED!
On the flip-side -------------
I noticed a central theme to your post here which I embolden in your post for reference.
All seem to indicate someone making a mistake. Mistakes happen. Always have -- probably always will. At least until God retires.
I make mistakes --- you make mistakes --- and others make mistakes too.
Ain't intentional if it's a mistake. Right?
I'm an old fogie. Here's what my experiences have taught me about getting through life without getting all wadded up.
Learn to --------------------------> Get OVER it. Only YOU can allow yourself to become angry, hurt, insulted, etc., etc., IF, if, if -- and when -- those emotions are brought about by an UNintended mistake. Why dwell on the negitive? Forgive and forget. I forget who said that though.
Which can be a personal problem isnt most things about life personal? or **
do you think most walks thru life with no feelings
**? HMMM
"Most" things about life "personal"? Heck no! Alot maybe. But it's real nice to be able to share SOME of a "personal" life. It's what separates the acquaintances from the friends. That's what friends are for. No?
Do I "think most walk thru life with no feelings"? Let's get serious here girl. Drop the drama. Do you HONESTLY, from how I've responded to you here, REALLY think I think like that?
However, I DO think SOME do think like that.
Yes I do.
There is nothing wrong with venting we all need to do that. Nor is this world the type that everyone is going to agree at all times if that were the case we wouldnt have things like war and so on.
I also agree with most of the fun of coming to a board like this is to debate opinions and share thoughts. It wouldnt be any fun if that wasnt happening.
But all in all
since I have been around here from what I have seen
is if something happens to HMS
most
all
of the post are about how wrong HMS is but if that happens to another team its ok.
And, you're point is....?
OPINIONS. That's all. Right?
Just hieroglyphics on a contrasting background --- that's what it all boils down to.
Letters assembled into words, --- words assembled into sentences, --- sentences assembled into paragraphs. Paragraphs into one of my famous, long winded posts.
Some folks read 'em and weep. Some folks throw fruits and veggies. I appreciate those who throw ripe food ---- hey! I gotta eat TOO.
Doncha know?
Some, waaayyyyy out on the fringes, tell me they like and enjoy things I write. But ----- NOT ALWAYS ----- do they feel that way.
Know what I tell 'em?
OH!? SO WHAT?!!
Try it.
O H, SOOOOO W H A T ??!!
GOOD!!!!!
Now granted I am new and with all that has been said I am going to stick around a little bit and trust me if I come to decide that I am wrong and see that most post arent tainted againest HMS then I am women enough to step up and admit I was wrong and will do so.
And, Plove ------ that's all we ask.
Always make up your own mind.
I made up MY own mind,..........I just can't recall where I left it.
Last time this happened, I was sittin' right on top of it.
It's twue, it's twue.
I think.
It's a memory thang.
Here's a thought and, perhaps well worth what it's gonna cost you.
If you think HMS is receiving a raw deal --- here or elsewhere --- be a good fan and point out the inaccuracies.
Makes for stimulating conversation.
As an added bonus, it can be educational.
And fun.
Shouldn't hurt a bit.
Don't worry about your home gettin' toilet papered either.
Except, maybe for Chris.
But I hear he makes a party of it all --- bein' from the Peach state and all. EVERYone is invited.
And a good time will be had by all.
Then he helps clean up.
What's not to like?
Think about it.
Thanx.
..................
HEY! Check it out!
I learned how to do
COLORS!!
Imagine that.
Thanx Plove!!!

I used to get so MAD
whenever the commentators would do the field run down and there was DW in his same spot every week Champions provisional. That was one thing I never agreed with was him starting the race no matter what. I think it honestly tarnished his career somewhat. He should have left on a good note or at least a descent one. That's why I will alway's be a R.Wallace fan. He left when he was still able to win.

Ol' DW.
Anybody remember the Day Dale Earnhardt was killed at Daytona?
I sure do.
And of all that I remember, what sticks in my mind the most is.........
Right after the crash, the attention went to the commentators booth.
Everyone there was 'headin' out to the party, laughing and joking.
Except Ol' DW.
Darrell was looking out the observation window with a very concerned look on his face --- worried.
And he said something like,.......
His window net isn't down yet.
Gosh, I hope he's alright.
Did I mention the others were in a happy mood on their way to the party?

Yes I remember Shockey
I was out on Long Island in New York having lunch with friends before my flight home. All I heard were screams and everyone around the TV…I was in a hurry to catch my flight so I didn’t stop find out what all the fuss was about. It wasn't until I buckled up in my seat that I found out. Jet Blue has 25 channels of Direct TV and naturally I found one with a replay of the days race. I tell ya that was the longest flight of my life. The 5+ hours felt like a lifetime.

I remember it well...I experienced it from the infield. Oh, I didn't see the wreck live, it was at the other end of the track from us...I didn't even see DW's reaction until I got home and watched my taped copy. But a coffee vendor in the pits (where we were after the race, scrounging left-over lugnuts, etc, for souvenirs) first tipped me off to the fact that all may not be well...and by the time we got back to the RV and fired up the portable TV, dialed in a local station, in staticy black and white we heard more than saw Mike Helton make the fateful announcment.
To this day, the sight of DW in that booth, saying "I hope he's o-kay" haunts me. Only he had the presence of mind to look away from the celebration for a moment, and let a little worry in.

The image of ol' DW looking out the window must have been a 'grab shot' by the camera man as he was leaving. I hadn't seen any other shots from that vantage point at any time earlier. An outside looking in shot.
The image "haunts" me too B.Babe. That's something I don't think I'll ever forget.
Ol' DW seemed to know not all was right. Some of the others were informed of Dale's passing while they partied. Nothing wrong with a party. Something wrong when getting to the party is more important than the welfare of a driver who just crashed on the last lap of the first race.
Just an opinion. Mine.

You may have seen the documentary "NASCAR: Life in the Fast Lane", in which DW talked indepth about that fateful day when Dale Sr. crashed at the track, which was the same day his brother Michael won the race. The first driver who climbed out of his car to investigate the crash was Ken Schrader. He knew when he looked inside the window, that Dale Sr. was dead. The documentary also captured that crash, including the paramedics arriving on the scene and removing Dale Sr. from the car.
